Notefile - Side Panel Notepad & Local File Notes

Description

Notes app for your side panel - auto-saves as real .txt/.docx files to your own folder, never uploaded to any server. Notefile is a side-panel notes app - a notepad for people who don't want their notes living on someone else's server. 📄 Real files, not a database Every note saves as an actual file - plain .txt, or a genuine .docx the moment it gets bold text, a heading, a link, a highlight, or a table — inside a folder you choose on your own computer. Your notes never touch our servers. ☁️ Sync your way Point Notefile at a folder inside Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or iCloud Drive, install it on your other Mac or PC, and your existing sync tool does the rest. Notefile's own server never sees your notes — only a trial email or license key. ✍️ A real editor Headings, bold/italic/underline, text and highlight color, fonts, bullet and numbered lists, checklists, tables, code, links, images. Auto-saves ~0.5s after you stop typing. 🔍 Organize & find Folders, color tags, pinning, and search across every note's title, body, filename, folder, and tags at once. ⚡ Quick capture anywhere A floating button on any webpage jumps you to a new note or your notes list. Drag a box over a chart or screenshot and on-device OCR turns it into editable text — nothing uploaded. 🔓 No lock-in Notes are .txt, .docx, or (older vaults) Markdown — open them in Obsidian, VS Code, Word, Notepad, anything. Uninstall anytime; your files stay exactly where they are. Free 30-day trial, every feature included — just an email, no card required.
