Customizable dark mode for Gmail with scheduling and per-sender overrides. # Gmail Dark Mode Enhancer: The Ultimate Customizable Reading Experience Transform your Gmail experience with the most advanced dark mode customization tool available. Gmail Dark Mode Enhancer isn't just another dark mode toggle; it's a comprehensive suite designed for professionals, night owls, and anyone who demands a perfectly tailored workspace. While Gmail's native dark mode offers a basic foundation, our enhancer provides the surgical precision required to eliminate eye strain, improve readability, and match your personal aesthetic. ## Why Settle for Basic Dark Mode? Standard dark modes often fail when they encounter complex HTML emails, promotional newsletters, or specific UI elements that remain jarringly bright. Gmail Dark Mode Enhancer solves these problems by giving you granular control over every major visual component of the Gmail interface. Whether you prefer a "True Black" (OLED-friendly) experience, a soft "Dark Grey" for reduced contrast, or a completely custom color palette, this extension empowers you to build the perfect interface. ## Key Features That Put You in Control ### 1. Granular Color Customization Take command of your inbox with precise color controls for: - **Main Background:** Choose from preset true black, dark grey, or any custom HEX code. - **Text & Typography:** Ensure your emails are always readable with custom text colors that pop against your chosen background. - **Hyperlinks:** Never lose a link again. Set a custom link color that stands out without being distracting. - **Sidebar & Navigation:** Harmonize your entire interface by customizing the sidebar panel color. - **Compose Window:** Keep your creative space focused. Set a dedicated background color for the compose window to separate drafting from reading. - **Accent Colors:** Personalize buttons, labels, and active states with your preferred accent color, adding a touch of personality to your professional tools. ### 2. Intelligent Email Body Overrides The biggest frustration with dark mode is the "White Background Trap"—HTML emails with hardcoded white backgrounds that burn your retinas in a dark room. Our extension features a sophisticated engine that forces dark backgrounds even on the most stubborn HTML emails, ensuring a consistent and comfortable reading experience across 100% of your inbox. ### 3. Per-Sender Customization Not all emails are created equal. Use our Per-Sender Override list to specify exactly which domains or email addresses should have forced dark mode enhancements. This is perfect for newsletters that use complex layouts which might otherwise break under generic dark mode rules. You have the power to white-list or black-list specific senders for the ultimate bespoke experience. ### 4. Smart Scheduling (Circadian Mode) Protect your sleep and your eyes with our integrated scheduler. Set your extension to automatically activate dark mode at a specific evening time and revert to light mode in the morning. This seamless transition mirrors your natural environment, reducing blue light exposure when it matters most without requiring manual intervention. ## Engineered for Performance and Privacy Gmail Dark Mode Enhancer is built with a "Privacy First" philosophy. - **Lightweight & Fast:** Optimized code ensures that your Gmail remains snappy and responsive. No lag, no bloat. - **No Data Collection:** We don't track your emails, your contacts, or your habits. Your settings are stored locally in your browser. - **Manifest V3 Compliant:** Built using the latest Chrome extension standards for maximum security and long-term compatibility. ## How It Works Once installed, simply click the extension icon to open the customization dashboard. From here, you can toggle the enhancement engine, adjust your colors in real-time, and set your schedule. The extension works silently in the background, applying your styles as you navigate through your folders and open emails. ### Perfect for: - **Developers & Designers:** Match your email client to your IDE. - **OLED Screen Users:** Save battery and reduce burn-in with True Black backgrounds. - **Late Night Workers:** Significantly reduce eye strain during midnight sessions. - **Accessibility Needs:** Adjust contrast and colors to meet your specific visual requirements. ## Join Thousands of Productive Users Don't let a poorly optimized interface slow you down or hurt your eyes. Upgrade to Gmail Dark Mode Enhancer today and experience Gmail the way it was meant to be seen: your way. --- ### FAQ **Does this replace Gmail's built-in dark mode?** It supplements it. We recommend enabling Gmail's dark theme and then using our enhancer to fine-tune the colors and fix the white background issues in HTML emails. **Will it break my email layouts?** Our engine is designed to be surgical. It targets backgrounds and text while preserving the layout integrity of your emails. If an email looks odd, you can quickly adjust settings or use the per-sender override. **How do I set the schedule?** Open the popup, enable "Schedule Mode," and set your "Start (Dark)" and "End (Light)" times. The extension handles the rest! ### Support & Feedback We are committed to making this the best Gmail tool on the market.
