Nest — Smart Tab Manager with Groups, Snooze, Sessions & Notes

Description

Organize tabs into groups, snooze distractions, save sessions, and keep notes tied to any page. Drowning in Chrome tabs? Nest is a free Chrome tab manager that brings tab organization, session save & restore, tab snoozing, notes, and an optional AI assistant together in one fast, private extension. Instead of a cramped wall of tiny tabs, you get an organized workspace you can group, save, search, and restore in a single click. Whether you keep 20 tabs or 200, Nest helps you take back control — organize tabs into categories, snooze the ones you don't need right now, save whole sessions, and never lose your work to a crash again. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ EVERYTHING NEST DOES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ▸ SMART TAB GROUPS & ORGANIZATION Sort your open tabs into named, color-coded categories so related work stays together. Set domain rules so tabs from a given site (GitHub, Gmail, your docs) automatically route to the right category — Nest learns how you organize and keeps it tidy for you. It's a tab organizer that actually scales past Chrome's built-in tab groups, because your categories persist across windows and restarts. ▸ SESSION SAVE & RESTORE (CHROME SESSION MANAGER) Save your current windows and tabs as a named session — "Client Project," "Research," "Job Search" — and restore the entire workspace in one click. Unlike Chrome's "Continue where you left off," which only remembers your last session, Nest keeps multiple named sessions you can return to any time. It's a full session manager for Chrome, built for people who switch between projects. ▸ RESTORE CLOSED TABS & RECOVER FROM CRASHES Accidentally closed a tab or window? Restore it instantly. Chrome crashed mid-project? Recover the whole session — not just the most recent one. Nest keeps reliable backups so a restart never means rebuilding an hour of gathered context. ▸ TAB SNOOZE Hide distracting tabs and have them reappear exactly when you need them — in an hour, tonight, tomorrow morning, or on a custom schedule. Snoozed tabs close completely (freeing memory) and come back on time. It's like a to-do list made of tabs, and a modern way to keep Chrome's memory use down. ▸ NOTES FOR YOUR TABS Attach rich-text notes to any tab or category. Keep research, links, decisions, and next steps right where the work is — so context never gets lost in a separate notes app. When you restore a session weeks later, your notes come back with it. ▸ POWERFUL SEARCH Find any open or recently closed tab in seconds. Search across windows, categories, and your tab history without digging — perfect when you "know you had it open somewhere." ▸ EXPORT & BACKUP Export your sessions to HTML or JSON for archiving, sharing, or migrating. Your tabs are never locked inside one browser or one tool. ▸ OPTIONAL AI ASSISTANT — NEST CHAT Manage tabs using plain language. Ask NEST Chat to find tabs, close duplicate tabs, snooze distractions, summarize a page, list closed tabs, organize your workspace, and more — 30+ tab actions, no menus required. AI is entirely optional; everything else works without it. ▸ CLOUD SYNC (OPTIONAL) Save a session on your work laptop and restore it on your home desktop. Your organized workspace follows you across devices. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHO NEST IS FOR ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Developers juggling docs, Stack Overflow, GitHub, localhost, and tickets across several projects • Researchers and students managing dozens of sources, papers, and reading lists • Remote workers switching between clients and contexts all day • Anyone who keeps "too many tabs" open and wants their browser back ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ A BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO… ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Most tab tools do one thing. Nest replaces a stack of single-purpose extensions with one: • OneTab — keeps your tabs organized into categories instead of one flat list, and lets you restore selectively. • Session Buddy — adds tab categories, notes, snooze, and optional sync on top of session saving. • Workona — a lighter, local-first option that doesn't require an account to get started. • Toby — organizes tabs in context from a popup, without taking over your new-tab page. • Tab Wrangler — declutters on your terms with deliberate snooze, instead of auto-closing tabs on a timer. • The Great Suspender (removed for malware) — a safe, maintained way to keep tab memory down, using snooze plus Chrome's Memory Saver. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHY NEST ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • FREE TO START — tab groups, session save/restore, snooze, notes, and search are free and work without an account. • LOCAL-FIRST & PRIVATE — your data stays on your device by default. Sync and AI are optional upgrades you turn on only if you want them. • LIGHTWEIGHT — capable without slowing Chrome down or hoarding memory. • ALL-IN-ONE — organization, recovery, focus, and notes in a single tab management extension. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FREE vs PRO ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Free: tab groups & categories, session save/restore, tab snooze, notes, search, and export. Pro (optional): cross-device cloud sync and the NEST Chat AI assistant. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Q: Is Nest free? A: Yes. The core tab manager — groups, sessions, snooze, notes, search, and export — is free and works without an account. Q: Do I need to create an account? A: No. Core features are local-first and work offline. You only sign in if you want cloud sync or the AI assistant. Q: Will Nest help with too many tabs slowing down Chrome? A: Yes. Snooze tabs you're not using (they close and free memory), organize the rest into categories, and save sessions so you can close groups of tabs without losing them. Q: Can it recover my tabs after a crash? A: Yes. Nest keeps session backups so you can restore an entire workspace in one click, even after an unexpected restart. Q: Is my data private? A: Your tab data stays local by default. Titles/URLs are only sent for AI commands if you enable the optional AI assistant, and page content is only read when you explicitly ask for it. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Add Nest to Chrome and take back control of your tabs — organize, save, snooze, and restore, free.
