FitToHire: Resume Job Match Score, ATS Checker & Gap Analysis

Description

Score your resume against any job posting. See your ATS visibility, missing keywords, and exactly what to fix before you apply. YOU'RE APPLYING TO JOBS THAT WILL NEVER CALL YOU BACK. Not because you're unqualified. Because your resume doesn't speak their language. The job says "Kubernetes." Your resume says "container orchestration." You have the skill. But the recruiter's search doesn't find you. Your application goes into a black hole. You never hear back. You start wondering if you're even qualified. You are. Your resume just doesn't prove it in the right words. That's what FitToHire fixes. WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES While you browse job listings on any site — LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, or your dream company's career page — FitToHire reads the job description and compares it against your resume. Not by counting keywords. By actually understanding whether your experience satisfies each requirement. Then it tells you three things: 1. YOUR MATCH SCORE — Are you actually qualified for this job? Not a guess. A requirement-by-requirement analysis that checks whether your experience covers what they're asking for, even when you used completely different words. 2. YOUR ATS VISIBILITY — What percentage of the job's keywords will a recruiter's screening software actually find on your resume? This is the number that determines whether a human ever sees your application. Most people are shocked by how low this is. 3. YOUR GAPS — Exactly which requirements you're missing, ranked by importance. Not a vague "you need more experience." Specific skills, specific phrases, specific fixes. WHY THIS ISN'T JUST ANOTHER RESUME SCANNER Most resume tools — even the ones that say "AI-powered" — work the same way: they use an LLM to pull keywords from the job description, pull keywords from your resume, and compare the two lists. Keyword in both? Match. Keyword missing? Gap. It's smarter than a basic word search, but it's still comparing WORDS, not understanding REQUIREMENTS. Here's where that breaks down. The job says "10+ years managing production infrastructure." There's no keyword there. It's a sentence about experience. An LLM keyword extractor might pull out "production infrastructure" as a phrase. Your resume says "15 years leading DevOps engineering across enterprise environments." Different words entirely. Keyword match? Zero. But are you qualified? Obviously. Or the job says "Proven success delivering multitower programs across infrastructure, cloud, security, and application domains." Try extracting a keyword from that. It's a leadership requirement described as a sentence. Your resume is full of exactly this experience — but described in YOUR words, not theirs. This is especially common in executive and senior roles, where job descriptions are written in phrases and paragraphs, not skill bullet points. Keyword tools — even LLM-powered ones — fall apart because there are no clean keywords to extract. FitToHire works differently. Two engines, working together: SEMANTIC UNDERSTANDING — For each requirement line in the job description, our entailment model reads it as a complete thought and checks it against your entire resume. Not "does the word appear?" but "does this person's experience satisfy this requirement?" It understands that "architected multi-cloud deployment pipeline" satisfies "cloud infrastructure experience." No keyword needed. KEYWORD PRECISION — At the same time, we check every specific keyword. Because even when you're qualified, the recruiter's ATS software doesn't understand sentences — it searches for words. If the job says "Terraform" and your resume says "infrastructure as code," you have the skill but you're invisible to the screening software. We catch that and tell you exactly where to add the word. No other tool combines both. Keyword tools miss the sentences. LLM tools miss the specific words. We catch both, and we tell you which type of gap each one is — so you know whether you need to add a keyword or whether you're genuinely missing the experience. HERE'S WHAT IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE You're on LinkedIn. You see a Senior DevOps Engineer role. Click "Add to FitToHire." Open your dashboard. Your report shows: Match Score: 72% ATS Visibility: 34% Gaps: 6 requirements That 34% ATS visibility means two-thirds of your qualifications are INVISIBLE to the recruiter's search. You have the experience. Your resume just doesn't use their words. The report breaks it down requirement by requirement: "5+ years cloud infrastructure experience" — MATCHED Your resume: "8 years designing multi-cloud architectures" FitToHire caught this. A keyword search would have missed it. "Experience with Terraform" — MISSING KEYWORD You have infrastructure-as-code experience but the word "Terraform" isn't on your resume. Fix: Rewrite your infrastructure bullet to name Terraform where you actually used it. Adding it to a skills list reads as stuffing — modern ATS penalizes that. "CI/CD pipeline experience" — EASY FIX Your resume mentions "automated deployment pipelines" — same thing, wrong words. Fix: Change "automated deployment pipelines" to "CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment." Same experience, right keyword. Each gap comes with a specific, paste-ready resume line. Not generic advice. An actual sentence you can copy into your resume that weaves the missing keyword into your real experience. HOW TO USE IT 1. BROWSE — Go to any job listing on any site. The "Add to FitToHire" button appears automatically in the panel when a job posting is detected. 2. SAVE — Click the button. The job title, company, and full description are captured instantly. No copy-pasting. Jobs queue up in the side panel as you browse - pin it open, add five jobs in two minutes, work through your list. 3. SCORE —Two ways. From the side panel, hit "Score" on any row or "Score all" to analyze your whole queue at once — every job gets scored against your resume without leaving the page. Or from the dashboard, score any saved job individually or inbatch. 4. REVIEW — Full report for every job: match score, ATS visibility, requirement-by-requirement breakdown, and paste-ready resume fixes for each gap. 4.5. TEST ANOTHER RESUME (Pro) — Got a leadership version and an IC version? Swap your default resume in the side panel and hit "Rescore all." Every queued job gets re-analyzed against the new resume in one click. Answer "which version lands better?" in thirty seconds, not thirty applications. 5. FIX AND RE-SCORE — Follow the coaching. Make targeted edits to your resume. Re-run the analysis. Watch your score climb. Know exactly when your resume is ready to submit. 6. TAILOR — Apply the coaching automatically. Tailor edits your real bullets to surface the missing requirements and hands you a JD-ready .docx. One pass included with every credit. WORKS WHEREVER YOU APPLY FitToHire automatically detects job postings on dozens of other major job boards. It also works on company career pages powered by all popular ATS platforms — over 40+ supported sites in total. Beyond the built-in list, FitToHire detects any career page that uses structured job posting data (JSON-LD). If the site follows web standards, the extension recognizes it automatically — even sites we've never seen before. BUILT FOR THE REALITY OF JOB SEARCHING We built FitToHire because we've been where you are. You apply to 50 jobs. You hear back from 3. You don't know why the other 47 ghosted you. Was it your resume? Were you underqualified? Were you overqualified? Did a human even see your application? Most of the time, the answer is no. A screening system scanned your resume for keywords, didn't find enough matches, and filtered you out before a recruiter ever opened the file. That's not fair. But it's how it works. FitToHire doesn't change how ATS systems work. It changes how you respond to them. Instead of guessing, you KNOW which keywords and phrases are missing. Instead of rewriting your entire resume for every job, you make 3-4 targeted edits that make you visible. The average active job seeker applies to 10-20+ jobs per week. Running each one through FitToHire takes seconds. The edits take minutes. The difference between getting ghosted and getting an interview? Often just a few words. WHAT'S UNDER THE HOOD This isn't a wrapper around ChatGPT with a nice interface. FitToHire runs a dedicated analysis pipeline built specifically for resume-to-JD matching: Skill extraction across 26 industries with 187,000+ recognized skills. Section-aware document understanding that knows requirements from responsibilities from boilerplate. Entailment scoring via trained cross-encoder models, not generic LLM prompting. Keyword-level gap detection with specific, actionable recommendations. Evidence-grounded coaching that references YOUR actual resume text, not generic templates. Every score is explainable. Every recommendation references a specific line in the job description and a specific place on your resume. Nothing is made up. Nothing is vague. WHY DETERMINISTIC MATTERS Tools that wrap ChatGPT or Claude have a problem: run the same resume against the same job twice, get two different answers. LLMs are probabilistic — they generate different text every time. Your score changes depending on when you check it. That's not analysis. That's a coin flip with a confidence score. FitToHire's core analysis pipeline is deterministic. Same resume, same job description, same score. Every time. The extraction, scoring, and gap detection run through trained models with fixed weights — not a chat prompt that gets regenerated on every request. PRICING Your first analysis is free.
