Description
Automatically inserts the current local timestamp into the ChatGPT input field and keeps it updated while typing. ChatGPT Auto Timestamp is a simple, lightweight Chrome extension that automatically inserts the current local timestamp into the ChatGPT input field — and keeps it updated while you are typing. The timestamp reflects the current typing time, not the moment you press “Send,” making it useful for tracking context, timing, and conversation flow. This extension works entirely in your browser and never sends data anywhere. No tracking, no ads, no analytics — just a small tool designed to improve your ChatGPT experience. ⭐ Key Features Automatic timestamp insertion A timestamp appears at the top of your ChatGPT input field as soon as you begin writing. Live auto-updating While you are typing (or keeping the window open), the timestamp automatically updates every second to show the current time — ideal for long conversations, recordings, tutorials, and time-sensitive discussions. Lightweight and fast Runs only on ChatGPT pages and has no noticeable performance impact. Private by design This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any data. Everything happens locally in your browser. Supports both chat.openai.com and chatgpt.com 🎯 Who Is This For? This extension is especially helpful for: YouTubers sharing ChatGPT interactions Bloggers writing ChatGPT tutorials Students studying with ChatGPT Developers documenting AI prompts Anyone who wants clean, time-stamped chat logs If you often scroll back through conversations and wonder “When did I write this?” — this tool solves that. ☕ Support Development This extension is free and will remain free. If you find it useful, you can support development through BuyMeACoffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/kimura Your support helps keep the extension simple, maintained, and up to date as ChatGPT evolves. Thank you! 🔒 Privacy & Permissions No data collection No ads or tracking Does not access your ChatGPT content Only runs on ChatGPT domains 100% client-side ⏱️ Final Notes This extension was created from a simple idea— “I wish ChatGPT would keep a clean, accurate record of when each message was sent.” If it makes your workflow or study sessions even a little smoother, then it was worth building.
