Automatically translates Slack messages to your preferred language. SLACK AUTO TRANSLATOR EXTENSION: BREAK LANGUAGE BARRIERS INSTANTLY The Slack Auto Translator Extension is a powerful tool designed to help teams communicate effortlessly across different languages. This extension automatically provides inline translations for visible Slack messages, allowing you to stay in the flow of your conversation without ever leaving the app. WHAT IT DOES: This extension enhances your Slack Web UI by detecting and translating incoming messages into your preferred language in real-time. Translated text appears seamlessly directly under the original message while preserving the structure of the text. It handles complex formatting like ordered or unordered lists, quote blocks, and code blocks independently to ensure the translated output remains organized and readable. Additionally, the styling automatically inherits Slack's dark, light, or custom theme colors and fonts, making the translations look like a native part of your workspace. WHY YOU SHOULD INSTALL IT: You can collaborate globally without the friction of copying and pasting text into external translation sites. The extension is built with performance in mind, using the Intersection Observer API to only translate messages that are actively visible on your screen, which reduces API load and keeps your browser fast. It offers unmatched flexibility by allowing you to choose between a custom API, your own LLM endpoint, or Chrome's built-in AI for translations. This ensures you maintain control over your translation source and data. KEY FEATURES: The extension supports over 90 languages and includes a smart "Auto Detect" feature to identify source languages automatically before making a request. You also have granular control over your experience, such as a specific toggle to decide whether technical code blocks should be translated or left in their original state to prevent breaking syntax. SIMPLE CONFIGURATION: Once installed, use the popup from the Chrome toolbar to set your target language and preferred translation method. Whether you are using a professional backend or a local model, the Slack Auto Translator makes global communication feel local.
