We will never share ANY user data with ANYONE. 🔒 Security. Your emails stay safe, using industry leading best practices. We are also externally audited. ⚫️ FAQ: 1️⃣ How is this add on different from other tools that do the same? Why should I choose Unsubscribe for Gmail™? This add on outperforms other alternatives in the following areas: 🟢 Effectiveness 1. After unsubscribing, this add on can also create Gmail filters (because it integrates with Gmail) to block new emails from the same domain or mailing list in case it didn't work. 2. We will never share your data. Other unsubscribe tools, such as unroll.me sell your email address to other parties, resulting in even more spam. 🟢 Security 1. Other add ons require IMAP (full) access to your inbox. This is relatively dangerous, compared to the way how we get access to user data. We make use of OAuth2, which relies on temporary access to only certain parts of the google user account. IMAP gives full access to the inbox and also requires to store an app password that may remain valid for a very long time. 2. We do not store any unnecessary email data, only the essential information needed to unsubscribe. 3. We have passed a security review before this add on could be published (Google CASA). 4. You don't need to download or install any software. Everything happens within Google Cloud. 5. The add on visits potentially dangerous unsubscribe links for you so your system remains unaffected. 🟢 Privacy 1. We will not sell or share any of your data to third parties. We are based in the EU and abide by GDPR regulations. unroll[dot]me, a popular alternative is not available in Europe because they live off selling personal data. 2. We do not store the content of any emails! Only metadata, such as the message ID and methods to unsubscribe from a newsletter. 🟢 Integration 1. We integrate deeply with Gmail™'s API infrastructure in a very secure way. That means no technical setup needed. 2. You don't need to setup IMAP manually. 2️⃣ What are the alternatives? We built another add on that works differently. You can find our other add on, called "Clean Inbox for Gmail™" on the Google Workspace Marketplace, or via cleaninboxforgmail.com. This add on works by creating filters to filter out emails based on phrases that typically occur in marketing emails. 3️⃣ So Clean Inbox for Gmail™ is a substitute for Unsubscribe for Gmail? Pick one? We would rather say that they are complementary! Clean Inbox for Gmail™ blocks new unknown annoying emails, by creating Gmail filters on your inbox. Unsubscribe for Gmail™ goes through the inbox and unsubscribes from unwanted mailing lists. When used together, you can cancel all newsletters that you are already subscribed to, and you prevent new unknown ones in the future from reaching your inbox. ⚫️ Use cases: ✨ Clean up your inbox and free up storage space by bulk deleting marketing emails 🛡️ Create email aliases to hide your email address 😓 Avoid having to manually unsubscribe from each newsletter 🦠 Avoid phishing emails that are disguised as newsletters with a malicious unsubscribe link 🤖 Bulk unsubscribe from all newsletters 🚫 Block domains to make sure annoying senders will never reach your inbox again 📏 Fine-tune rules that are applied to subscriptions Our users are: 🧑 Consumers who receive a lot of marketing emails who require less distractions and a more positive mindset during their free time. 🏢 Large companies & small businesses, entrepreneurs that require a tool to cut through all the noise and raise their efficiency level. 👩🏫 Teachers, universities (and more broadly education) who receive a lot of marketing and non-marketing (follow up) materials from external companies, organizations and projects. 👩⚕️ Associations, NGO & clubs that receive many cold acquisition emails and who require solutions to focus on their core. 🤵 And also startups, self-employed persons who receive everything from the above ⚫️ Powerful features in a small jacket Unsubscribe for Gmail is an extension that won't get in your way.
