Structured request routing and HTTP header modification for development and testing. reqway is a developer-focused request routing extension for Chromium. It helps you switch between local, development, staging, and other environments without changing application code or repeatedly editing proxy settings. Organize routing rules into reusable profiles, activate a profile globally or only for the current tab, and quickly enable or disable individual rules from the popup. Key features: - Match requests by URL, host, path, prefix, suffix, wildcard, or regular expression - Rewrite matched URL components, change the destination origin, or redirect to an absolute URL - Modify request and response headers with Set, Append, and Remove operations - Organize ordered rules into reusable profiles - Select profiles globally or override them for the current tab - Restrict profiles using page-domain allowlists and blocklists - Enable or disable individual rules directly from the popup - Preview routing behavior with the built-in Playground - Detect validation issues, missing permissions, and potential rule conflicts - Request site access only when an enabled rule requires it - Import and export configuration as JSON - Create optional manual backups through Chrome Sync Privacy and security: reqway stores configuration and runtime state locally by default. Optional cloud backup uploads only the exported configuration to Chrome Sync. Site permissions, per-tab overrides, runtime snapshots, and request-match diagnostics are not included in cloud backups. reqway contains no analytics, advertisements, remote code, or separate user account system. Important limitations: reqway does not bypass browser security policies such as CORS, Mixed Content, cookie restrictions, or SameSite rules. Destination servers must be configured to accept redirected requests.
