Share screenshots without leaking secrets. Blackbar automatically detects and permanently redacts sensitive information before your screenshot is created. API keys, access tokens, passwords, emails, phone numbers, card numbers, wallet addresses, IP addresses, and other credentials are covered automatically, so the first screenshot you see is already the safe one. Unlike cloud-based screenshot tools, everything happens entirely on your device. Blackbar cannot upload your screenshots or send your data anywhere. Its Content Security Policy declares connect-src 'none', meaning Chrome itself blocks the extension from making network requests. It works even with your internet disconnected. Blackbar makes this clear and indicates when a screenshot is safely redacted using permanent black bars. Every exported image is flattened, removing editable layers and stripping metadata before it leaves your device. Minimal permissions Blackbar only accesses the tab you choose, only after you activate it. It does not request permission to read and change data on every website you visit. Honest limitations Chrome does not allow extensions to capture protected pages such as the Chrome Web Store, Settings, or the New Tab page. For those, simply take a normal system screenshot and paste it into Blackbar. Blackbar also cannot detect text that exists only inside images, videos, or canvas elements.
