Capture a region of a Chrome tab as an image or a video, annotate it, export to PNG/WebM/MP4/GIF. Step 1, step 2, gotcha. Gotcha frames a region of any browser tab, as an image or a video, lets you annotate it, and hands you a file you can paste anywhere: a help page, a ticket, a release note, a support reply. Nothing is uploaded. No account is created. The extension declares no host permission, so Chrome shows no "read and change all your data on all sites" warning when you install it. The overlay is injected only after you press the shortcut, and the access ends with the tab. FOR PRODUCT OWNERS WRITING DOCS Number the walkthrough on the screen itself: badge 1 on the field, 2 on the dropdown, 3 on the button, and the reader stops asking where to click. Add an arrow, a box, a label. Blur the customer's name before the picture leaves your organisation. Then paste. When the next release changes the screen, you take the shot again in the same place, not in a drawing tool. FOR TESTERS Frame what just broke, circle it, paste it in the ticket. Ctrl+C copies the region without even opening the editor, and the frame stays put for the next shot. Delay the capture by 3, 5 or 10 seconds when the bug lives in a menu that closes as soon as you move the mouse. Record a video when the subject moves. WHAT IT DOES • Drag a frame on any page, with the mouse or with a finger on a touch screen. Ctrl+A frames the whole visible screen. • Image or video, chosen in the bar under the frame: it is the only moment you know whether the subject moves. • Annotate: arrows, boxes, ellipses, numbered steps, freehand, text. • Blur what must not leave. The blur is destructive: the pixels are gone from the file you send, not covered up in it. • Pick any colour of the page with the eyedropper and get its hex code. • Copy to the clipboard, or save as PNG, JPG, MP4, WebM or GIF. • A library keeps your captures on your machine and purges them on the schedule you choose. BUILT WITH A FEW OPINIONS • Recording controls sit outside the recorded rectangle and are cropped away by the export, because tab capture films everything on the page. • A click halo marks every click in a recording. No screen capture shows where you clicked, not even where the pointer itself is filmed. • The button says Save, never Download: your screenshot never made a round trip through anybody's server, and the wording will not suggest it did. Many French speakers work in an English Chrome. PRICE Image capture, annotation and export are free and unlimited, and will stay that way.
