ToDo List Sidebar — Your To-Do List, One Click Away Need to jot something down, see what's left, or tick off what you've finished? Click the ToDo List Sidebar icon and your to-do list slides open in Chrome's side panel, right next to the page you're on. Add tasks, organize them, mark them done — then close the panel and get back to what you were doing. No separate app, no extra window, no digging through buried tabs. A simple, fast, and genuinely free task manager for people who want to get things done — not configure software for an hour first. ⭐ Key Features 📌 One-click sidebar — Click the extension icon and your to-do list opens in Chrome's native side panel, alongside whatever website you're on. Done with it? Close it in one click and keep browsing. ⚡ Quick task capture — Add a to-do in seconds. The faster it is to capture something, the more likely you are to actually do it — exactly the "capture everything" habit at the heart of good task management. ✅ Subtasks — Break big, intimidating tasks into small, completable steps. A project that stalls for weeks gets done when it becomes a checklist of 20-minute actions. 📝 Notes on any task — Attach context, links, or details to a task so you always know exactly what "done" looks like. 📅 Due dates and times — Give tasks a date and time so today's list is clear and nothing important drifts out of sight. 🗂️ Multiple task lists — Keep separate lists for work, personal life, errands, study, or any project. Move tasks between lists as priorities change. ↕️ Drag-and-drop ordering — Reorder your day by dragging tasks into priority order. Fully keyboard-accessible, too. 🔍 Search your tasks — Find any to-do instantly, even across multiple lists. 🖱️ Add tasks from any page — Highlight text on any website, right-click, and send it straight to your to-do list with "Add as task to To-do List." Turn an email, an article, or a message into an action item without breaking flow. 🖼️ Custom backgrounds — Personalize your panel with your own background images so your workspace feels like yours. 🌗 Light, dark, and system themes — Match your browser or your mood. Easy on the eyes, day or night. 🔒 Privacy-friendly — Your tasks are stored locally in your browser. No account required, and you can start using it the moment it's installed. 🆓 100% Free — Every Feature, for Everyone No paywalls, no locked features, no "upgrade to unlock." Every capability in ToDo List Sidebar — multiple lists, subtasks, notes, custom backgrounds, and the rest — is available to every user at no cost. Install it and you have the whole thing. 🚀 How to Get Started 1. Install ToDo List Sidebar. 2. Click the extension icon to open your list in the side panel, beside any website. 3. Add your first few tasks — keep today's list short and specific. 4. Break anything big into subtasks, add a due date if it matters, and drag your most important task to the top. 5. Highlight text on any page and right-click to send it straight to your list. 6. When you're done, close the panel and get back to work. That's the whole system. No setup marathon, no learning curve. 💡 Why a Sidebar To-Do List Most to-do lists fail because they're a hassle to reach. The task lives in another app you have to switch to, or a tab you buried hours ago — so by the time you'd update it, the moment has passed and the thought is gone. ToDo List Sidebar removes that friction: your list is one click away from any page, right where you're already working. Capturing a task, breaking it into steps, or checking one off takes seconds, so your list actually stays current. It's the same idea behind Getting Things Done (GTD): the easier it is to get tasks into one trusted place, the more you'll rely on it. 🎯 Built for the Way You Actually Work 🚀 For focus and productivity Turn an overwhelming backlog into one short, clear daily checklist. Write down your few most important tasks and drag them into priority order — the same focus you get from the Ivy Lee Method — or sort by urgency and importance to apply the Eisenhower Matrix. Open the panel to track tasks and check them off as you finish, and let small, visible progress keep your productivity and momentum high. It also pairs well with focus techniques like the Pomodoro Technique: line up your next task, then close the panel and work in a focused interval. 💼 For work and projects Keep a list per project, break deliverables into subtasks, add due dates, and capture action items from emails and docs the moment they appear — all without leaving the page you're on. 🎓 For students One list for assignments, one for readings, one for personal life. Add due dates so deadlines stay visible, and break long study sessions into manageable steps. 🧠 For ADHD and busy brains When a task pops into your head, getting it down fast is everything — before it slips away. One click opens your list, you capture the task in seconds, and you're back to what you were doing. Ultra-small subtasks lower the barrier to starting, checking items off gives you quick hits of progress, and color and custom backgrounds make the list feel like yours. 🏠 For everyday life Groceries, errands, reminders to self, things to look up later — keep a running list that's always a click away, on every tab. ✔️ Why Choose ToDo List Sidebar? ✔️ Your to-do list is one click away in the Chrome side panel, on any website. ✔️ Powerful task management — subtasks, notes, due dates, and multiple lists. ✔️ Fast capture from anywhere, including right-click on any page. ✔️ Works with productivity methods like GTD, Ivy Lee, and the Eisenhower Matrix. ✔️ No account, no sign-up — your data stays local and private. ✔️ Every feature free, for everyone. ❓ Frequently Asked Questions Q: Is ToDo List Sidebar really free? A: Yes — completely. Every feature, including multiple lists, subtasks, notes, custom backgrounds, and themes, is free for all users. There are no locked "pro" features and no subscription. Q: How is this different from a to-do list app or a new tab to-do list? A: Instead of living in a separate app or only showing up when you open a new tab, your list opens in Chrome's side panel right where you're working — one click when you need it, closed when you don't. Less friction means you actually keep it up to date. Q: Do I need to create an account or sign in? A: No. There's no sign-up and no login. Install it and start adding tasks immediately. Your data is stored locally in your browser. Q: Can I organize tasks into different lists? A: Yes. Create as many task lists as you like — work, personal, errands, study, individual projects — and move tasks between them. You can also add subtasks, notes, and due dates to any task. Q: How do I quickly turn something I'm reading into a task? A: Highlight any text on a webpage, right-click, and choose "Add as task to To-do List." It's the fastest way to capture an action item from an email, article, or message without losing your place. Q: Can I use it with productivity methods like GTD, the Ivy Lee Method, or the Eisenhower Matrix? A: Yes — this to-do list Chrome extension is method-agnostic. Capture everything into one trusted list in true Getting Things Done (GTD) style, write a short ordered list of your top tasks the Ivy Lee way, or drag tasks into urgent/important order to apply the Eisenhower Matrix. It also pairs naturally with focus techniques like the Pomodoro Technique — line up your next task, then close the panel and focus. Q: Does it work on every website? A: Yes. The side panel opens alongside any site, so your to-do list is available no matter where you are in the browser. Stop losing your to-do list in a forgotten tab or a separate app. Install ToDo List Sidebar and keep your tasks one click away, on every page.
