Advanced Auto Refresh & Page Monitor | Tools Make Life Easy

Description

Premium tab auto-refresher — Interval, Timer, Tabs & Monitor in the popup; Templates, Alerts, Stats & Settings in the side panel. Advanced Auto Refresh & Reloader lets you automatically reload any tab, monitor pages for changes, and get instant alerts. Some pages refuse to update themselves. A ticket page that only shows "sold out" until the moment more become available. A job board that adds a new listing at some random hour. A price that quietly drops for twenty minutes during a flash sale. Advanced Auto Refresh & Page Monitor exists for exactly that problem: it reloads any tab for you, on whatever schedule you choose, and can watch the page for the one change you actually care about — then tell you the second it happens. It's built around two ideas most simple "auto refresh" extensions skip. First, refreshing and monitoring are two different jobs, and you shouldn't have to choose only one. Second, the extension should tell you what's going on without you babysitting it - a countdown visible right on the page, a running tally of what it's done, and alerts that reach you even when the tab is in the background. Below is a full breakdown of everything inside the extension, how each part works, and where it's genuinely useful. ============================================ REFRESH CONTROLS — THE INTERVAL TAB ============================================ This is where you decide how often a page reloads. There are three modes, and you can switch between them any time. Fixed Interval — type in a number of seconds and the page reloads every single time that many seconds pass. Simple, predictable, and the right choice for most everyday refreshing: a live scoreboard, a dashboard, a queue counter. Random Interval - instead of one fixed number, set a minimum and a maximum, and the extension picks a new random wait time inside that range before every refresh. This matters more than it sounds: a page that reloads at the exact same second every time is easy for a site to flag as automated traffic, while a randomized interval behaves more like a person occasionally refreshing the page themselves. Each field has a small "?" next to it explaining exactly what it controls, so you're never guessing what minimum and maximum mean here. Custom Duration - for longer or more specific gaps, like refreshing every 2 hours and 30 minutes rather than "every 9000 seconds," Custom Duration lets you set hours, minutes, and seconds directly, with a live preview showing exactly what interval you've built. Options - the details that make refreshing reliable for hours at a time: * Hard Refresh bypasses your browser's cache on every reload, so you're never shown stale, cached content even though the page technically reloaded. * Stop After Count caps the whole thing at a set number of refreshes, so a page you forgot about doesn't refresh all night. * Pause When Not Visible skips a refresh cycle whenever the tab isn't the one you're actively looking at, so background tabs don't waste bandwidth reloading pages you're not watching. * On User Interaction decides what happens the moment you click, type, or scroll on the page yourself: do nothing, pause briefly and resume automatically, stop outright, or restart the countdown from a full interval. This is what stops the page from being yanked out from under you mid-scroll. * Redirection Behavior handles what happens if a refresh causes the page to redirect elsewhere - Follow All Redirects keeps refreshing wherever it lands, while Follow Canonical URL always pulls the tab back to the exact address you started on, which helps on login-gated or session-based pages that like to bounce you around. * Error Page Detection quietly checks each reload for the signs of a broken page - a 404, "page not found," a server error - and alerts you if one shows up, instead of happily refreshing a dead page for hours. * Show On-Page Timer turns on the small floating countdown described further down. ============================================ TIMER TAB — DELAYED START ============================================ Sometimes you don't want refreshing to begin the second you hit Start - you want it to begin later. The Timer tab handles that separately from your Interval settings, with two ways to schedule the first refresh: Duration Mode counts down from right now - set hours, minutes, and seconds, and refreshing kicks in once that time has passed. Good for "start refreshing in 20 minutes, right before the drop." Date Time Mode lets you pick an exact calendar date and clock time instead - good for a known release time, like "start refreshing at 9:00 AM on the 14th." Once the delayed start fires, your Interval settings take over exactly as if you'd pressed Start yourself. The toolbar badge shows a small hourglass while it's waiting, and the popup tells you "Starts in Xm" so you always know it's armed and counting down. ============================================ TABS TAB — EVERYTHING YOU'RE RUNNING, AT A GLANCE ============================================ If you're refreshing more than one page at once - a few product pages, a couple of ticket links, a job board and a price page - the Tabs tab lists every one of them in a single view, with a live count badge, so you can tell at a glance how many are active without opening each tab individually. ============================================ PAGE MONITOR — THE MONITOR TAB ============================================ This is the feature that turns "auto refresh" into "auto refresh that actually tells me something." Instead of blindly reloading forever, Page Monitor watches the content of the page and only makes noise when something you actually care about changes. Four monitoring modes: - Alert When Keyword Appears - type in a word or phrase, like "in stock," "available," or a product name, and get alerted the moment it shows up anywhere on the page. - Alert When Keyword Lost - the reverse: get notified the moment a phrase like "sold out" disappears from the page. - Alert On Any Content Change - no keyword needed; the extension compares the page's text between refreshes and flags it the moment anything meaningfully changes. - Watch One Element's Value - click Pick Element, then click directly on any part of the page you want tracked: a price, a countdown, a seat count, a follower number. The extension watches that exact spot and alerts you only when its value changes, ignoring everything else on the page. This is the most precise mode, since it ignores ads, timestamps, and other content that changes constantly but doesn't matter to you. Smart Refresh, a toggle in this tab, goes a step further: it checks the page before actually reloading it, and if nothing has changed, skips that reload entirely - fewer wasted page loads, less bandwidth, and a lighter footprint on both your machine and the site you're watching. ============================================ ALERTS — HOW YOU GET TOLD ============================================ Detecting a change only matters if you notice it, so every detection can trigger up to four alert types at once, controlled from the side panel: - Desktop Notification; a normal system notification, visible even if Chrome is in the background or minimized. - Sound Alert; a short, built-in beep, so you can hear it from another room without needing headphones or an audio file. - Voice Announcement; the extension speaks the alert out loud using your browser's own text-to-speech, useful if you're working across multiple monitors or away from the screen entirely. - On-Page Flash; the exact element (or the whole page, for full-page monitoring) briefly flashes an outline, so when you do look over, you can immediately see what changed without hunting for it. A Test Alert button fires all four at once, so you can check what your current combination actually looks and sounds like before you need it to work for real. ============================================ TEMPLATES — DON'T START FROM ZERO ============================================ Four built-in presets fill in sensible Interval and Monitor settings for common jobs with a single tap, which you can then fine-tune however you like: - Stay Online; a gentle randomized interval, good for keeping any profile or account status looking active. - Ticket Drop; a fast randomized interval built for catching releases and restocks the moment they go live. - Price Watch; a longer fixed interval paired with element-value monitoring, tuned for tracking a specific price or number. - Breaking News; a fixed interval paired with keyword monitoring, for catching a new headline or update the moment it's posted. ============================================ STATS & THE ON-PAGE TIMER ============================================ Stats keeps a running record so you're never refreshing blind: how many refreshes happened today, how many actual changes were found today, your all-time refresh total, and a day streak tracking how many days in a row you've had something running. The On-Page Timer is a small, draggable countdown pill that sits directly on the page you're refreshing, showing the time left until the next reload in a clear minutes:seconds format. Drag it to whichever corner is out of your way, and it remembers that position separately for every site you use it on, so it never covers the part of the page you actually need to see. ============================================ SETTINGS ============================================ - Theme; match your system's light/dark setting automatically, or lock it to Light or Dark yourself. - Battery-Aware Pause; on devices where the browser exposes battery information, this slows refreshing down automatically when your battery is low and unplugged, so a forgotten tab doesn't drain your laptop. - Advanced Settings; a dedicated options page where you can define URL pattern rules, so specific sites automatically get a saved configuration applied the moment a matching tab opens, with no need to touch the popup at all. ============================================ POPUP + SIDE PANEL — TWO VIEWS, ONE EXTENSION ============================================ Click the toolbar icon for the popup: Interval, Timer, Tabs, and Monitor, the controls you'll reach for constantly. Open the side panel from inside the popup for Templates, Alerts, Stats, and Settings, the setup you configure occasionally and then leave alone. Both stay in sync automatically — whatever you set in one is exactly what Start uses in the other. ============================================ WHO THIS IS FOR ============================================ - Freelancers and support staff who need a profile or dashboard to look consistently active - Shoppers tracking a price drop, a restock, or a flash sale - Anyone trying to catch limited tickets, reservations, or bookings the second they open - Job seekers watching a careers page for a new listing - Anyone following a live score, an auction, a queue, or a status page that doesn't push updates to them - Researchers or analysts tracking small text or numeric changes on a page over time ============================================ PRIVACY ============================================ Your configuration lives in your own browser's storage, synced through your Google account only if you're already signed into Chrome, and is never sent to us or to any third-party server. The extension doesn't track which sites you visit, doesn't run analytics, and doesn't sell or share data — because there's no server on our end to send it to in the first place. ============================================ GETTING STARTED ============================================ 1. Open the page you want refreshed or watched. 2. Click the toolbar icon and choose Fixed, Random, or Custom under Interval — or open the side panel and tap a Template instead. 3. Want monitoring too? Switch to the Monitor tab and pick a mode. 4. Hit Start. The badge turns on, and the on-page timer (if enabled) starts counting down. 5. Come back to the side panel any time for stats, alerts, or settings. Got a feature you'd like to see, or something that isn't working right?
