Gaze protection — blocks and filters inappropriate content, keeping you focused HaramBlock — AI-Powered Gaze Protection HaramBlock is a browser extension that helps Muslims lower their gaze while browsing the internet. In a world where inappropriate imagery appears everywhere — in ads, social feeds, news sites, search results — protecting your eyes becomes a daily struggle. HaramBlock applies a digital hijab to web images, filtering out what shouldn't be seen. Why HaramBlock? Allah commands us in the Quran: "Tell the believing men to lower their gaze" (24:30). The internet makes this command harder to follow than ever. Inappropriate content appears without warning, and even with the best intentions, it's difficult to look away in time. HaramBlock was built to help the Ummah follow this ruling in the digital age. Let technology assist you in protecting your gaze and keeping your browsing free from fitnah. How It Works HaramBlock uses advanced machine learning with instance segmentation — a sophisticated AI technique that precisely identifies and locates inappropriate content within images. Unlike simple blockers that hide entire pictures, our model detects specific regions and masks only what needs to be covered. Think of it as applying hijab to images: the awrah is covered, the rest remains visible and useful. The extension automatically detects and masks website media in real-time: 1. AI scans images and video frames as pages load 2. Instance segmentation identifies potentially inappropriate regions 3. Detected regions are masked 4. The rest of the image stays intact This happens in real-time as you browse locally on the device.
