From my decades of marine study, I've come to appreciate how these jellyfish use their distinctive, long tentacles not just for hunting but for their mesmerizing presence. The ethereal glow from their bells illuminates the water around them, making them appear like living celestial bodies. Their bells are relatively flat, and the delicate, ribbon-like tentacles extend far below, creating a beautiful trailing net to capture tiny zooplankton. They pulse with a gentle rhythm, allowing them to navigate through the currents and maintain their position in the water column. This species is a perfect example of how a creature without a brain or bones can achieve such an elegant and effective form of life.
