No subscription. No ads. No analytics. No cloud database. Whether you're studying, researching, reading documentation, comparing products, applying for jobs, planning a trip, or simply saving interesting things you find online, Markd turns your browser into a personal research workspace. 🌟 WEB HIGHLIGHTER Select text on almost any webpage and save it as a highlight. Create highlights using the on-page button, the Alt+H keyboard shortcut, or Chrome's right-click menu. Choose from preset highlight colors or create your own custom colors. Add notes, tags, and projects to your highlights, then return to the page later and Markd restores them automatically. Your highlights remain connected to the original webpage, making it easy to revisit the source and understand the context in which you saved something. Markd works as a web highlighter, article highlighter, study highlighter, research annotation tool, and documentation highlighter without requiring you to copy everything into another app. 📝 ADD NOTES TO HIGHLIGHTS Turn highlighted text into useful research notes. Click a highlight to add your own explanation, summary, question, reminder, or idea. Notes support bold, italic, underline, headings, bullet lists, numbered lists, strikethrough, and inline code. Hover over a highlighted passage to quickly preview its note while staying on the webpage. This makes it easy to annotate articles, research papers, documentation, tutorials, course material, and other online reading. 📌 STICKY NOTES ON WEBPAGES Add sticky notes directly to websites without opening another app. Create a sticky note with Alt+S or Chrome's right-click menu. Sticky notes can be moved, resized, recolored, formatted, positioned beside selected text, attached to a place on the webpage, or pinned to your browser window while you scroll. Use browser sticky notes for reminders, questions, ideas, explanations, summaries, to-do items, or anything you want to remember while browsing. 🔖 SAVE WEBPAGES AND BOOKMARKS Found something useful but don't need to highlight it yet? Save the entire webpage to your Markd research library. Give saved pages your own title, description, tags, and projects. Markd also automatically remembers a webpage whenever you create a highlight or sticky note on it. Instead of keeping dozens of tabs open, save useful articles, documentation, resources, products, job listings, research sources, or reading material and find them again later. 📁 ORGANIZE RESEARCH WITH PROJECTS Create projects to keep related research together. Projects can be used for courses, essays, research papers, programming topics, job searches, personal projects, product research, travel planning, reading lists, assignments, and anything else you're researching. Choose an active project and Markd can automatically organize new highlights and notes into it. The same page or annotation can belong to multiple projects, so you aren't forced into a single folder structure. 🏷️ ORGANIZE WITH TAGS Add tags to highlights, sticky notes, and saved webpages. For example: important exam evidence read-later idea python research Use tags alongside projects to build a research system that works for you. You can later filter your library by tag, project, website, annotation type, or highlight color. 🔎 SEARCH ALL YOUR NOTES AND RESEARCH Markd gives you one search box for everything you've saved. Search highlighted text, highlight notes, sticky notes, page titles, page descriptions, URLs, websites, tags, projects, and highlight colors. Markd also supports search filters such as: tag:evidence project:"Literature Review" site:wikipedia.org color:yellow type:highlight Combine filters to quickly narrow down a large research library and find exactly what you saved. 📚 BROWSER SIDEBAR Open the Markd sidebar while staying on the webpage you're currently reading. From the sidebar you can see everything saved from the current page, search your research library, edit notes, add and remove tags, organize highlights into projects, jump directly to highlights, and reveal saved annotations on their original webpage. Markd works alongside your normal browsing instead of forcing you into a separate note-taking workflow. 🗂️ FULL RESEARCH WORKSPACE Open the Markd workspace when you want a complete view of everything you've collected. Browse your research by pages, highlights, sticky notes, projects, tags, websites, colors, search, and archive. Switch between grid, list, and masonry views to manage larger collections. Markd combines web highlighting, bookmarking, note-taking, and research organization into one browser workspace. ✅ ORGANIZE MULTIPLE ITEMS AT ONCE Managing a large research library doesn't have to mean editing everything one item at a time. Select multiple pages or annotations to add tags, assign projects, export items, or delete items. You can also reorder annotations so the information most important to you stays near the top. 📦 EXPORT AND BACK UP YOUR RESEARCH Your research isn't locked inside Markd. Export your saved content as readable Markdown or create a complete JSON backup of your library. Export your complete library, a single project, your current search results, or only selected items. JSON backups can later be imported and merged with your existing Markd library without deleting your current research. This makes it easy to create local backups or move your research between computers. 👻 INVISIBLE MODE Want your web highlighter to stay completely out of the way? Enable Invisible Mode and Markd's selection button disappears while keyboard shortcuts keep working. Alt+H — Highlight selected text Alt+S — Add a sticky note Chrome's right-click menu remains available whenever you need it. Invisible Mode is ideal when you want distraction-free reading while keeping highlighting and note-taking one shortcut away. ⚙️ CONTROL WHERE MARKD RUNS Choose exactly where Markd should be active. Disable Markd for a specific webpage, an entire website, or only the current browser tab. You can also clear highlights and sticky notes from the current page whenever you want. 🌐 BUILT FOR MODERN WEBSITES Markd isn't limited to simple static pages. It is designed to restore annotations across many modern browsing experiences, including single-page applications, dynamically loaded content, infinite-scroll pages, route changes, repeated text, animated pages, and open Shadow DOM content. Annotations can also stay synchronized across multiple open tabs. 🔐 PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your research belongs to you. 🚫 No account 🚫 No subscription 🚫 No paid plan 🚫 No advertising 🚫 No analytics 🚫 No cloud database 🚫 No external research requests Your highlights, notes, sticky notes, saved webpages, projects, and tags are stored locally inside your Chrome profile.
