Lock the vault with a master password, save the current page, search bookmarks, organize them by folder, add notes, import browser bookmarks on demand, and export encrypted or plain JSON backups. Everything stays on your device. No account, no cloud sync, no analytics service, and no remote server are required for the core experience. SafeMarks is useful when your bookmarks are personal, sensitive, or simply nobody else’s business. Maybe you save job-hunting links, research notes, gift ideas, side projects, health reading, or tabs you would rather not explain to a curious coworker, roommate, or an overly efficient partner doing a little “where have you been browsing” audit. It is privacy-first, but still practical: import existing browser bookmarks when you get started, keep folders organized, and back up the vault as encrypted JSON when you need to move it manually between devices.
