Description

Show password fields, plus a built-in password generator. Hover loupe, right-click, copy. Auto-hide. No tracking. Show Password Fields is the fastest way to show password field contents on any web page. Typed a long passphrase and want to verify it? Need to view password field values while filling out a form? This lightweight tool helps you show password in password field with one click — no DevTools required. 🔍 Stop fighting asterisks and dots. The extension lets you unhide password field characters instantly, copy a hidden password to the clipboard, or use a unique magnifier loupe that peeks under your cursor while you hover. It is the cleanest way to show me my password on screen without exposing it longer than you need. 🧭 Three Ways to Show Password Fields 1. Toolbar click — toggle every password field on the active tab in one tap 2. Right-click menu — pick Show password or Copy password on a focused field 3. Hover loupe — hold Alt (or Ctrl/Shift, your choice), move your cursor, and a floating magnifier reveals the value under it. Press C while the loupe is visible to copy that value without ever clicking This trio covers every workflow: bulk reveal, single-field check, or stealthy hover view. You will never need to make an html password field show characters by hand or edit the type attribute in DevTools again. ✨ Key Features ➤ One-click reveal: show password fields on the whole page with a single toolbar tap ➤ Keyboard shortcut: toggle every password field with a hotkey (suggested Ctrl+Shift+Y) — fully rebindable to whatever you like ➤ Hover-loupe magnifier: the loupe inherits the field font, size, and color — looks native on every site ➤ Press C inside the loupe to copy: a small "C - copy" hint appears in the magnifier so you never forget the shortcut ➤ Right-click → show or copy: per-field control via the context menu ➤ Built-in password generator: right-click any field and choose Generate password to create and autofill a strong, random password — adjustable length, character types, and an option to exclude look-alike characters like l, I, 1, O, 0 ➤ Configurable auto-hide: choose 5, 10, or 30 seconds — or never — with an optional yellow-into-red countdown pulse so the reveal never sneaks up on you ➤ Best-effort clipboard cleanup 30 s after copy: tries to clear only if what you copied is still there ➤ Open Shadow DOM and same-origin iframes are supported ➤ Available in 50+ languages ➤ Manifest V3, zero tracking, zero dependencies ⚙️ Make It Yours Open the settings page (right-click the toolbar icon → Options) to tailor everything: • Auto-hide timing — 5 / 10 / 30 seconds, or keep fields visible until you hide them • Loupe on/off and its activation key — Alt, Ctrl, or Shift, so it never clashes with your habits • Per-site blocklist — keep the extension completely inactive on chosen domains and their subdomains • Countdown pulse — turn the yellow-to-red warning on or off All preferences are stored locally on your device and never leave your browser. 🔐 Why use Show Password Fields? Sometimes you just need to view password field contents. Maybe: 1️⃣ You typed a 24-character random secret and want to confirm it before submitting 2️⃣ You are helping a relative log in and need to unhide password dots they typed 3️⃣ You are a developer testing a sign-up flow and want to show hide password field toggling without DevTools 4️⃣ You forgot what your browser autofilled and need to show password in input field one more time Whatever the reason, the workflow stays the same: click, hover, or right-click. No accounts, no sign-in, no surprises. 📋 How to copy hidden password fields Wondering how to copy a password that is hidden? Easy: ▸ Right-click any password input and choose Copy password from the context menu ▸ Or hold the loupe key to summon the hover loupe, then press C to copy the value under your cursor ▸ Paste it anywhere — the extension tries to clear the clipboard after 30 seconds That is the calmest way to learn how to copy and paste a hidden password without ever revealing it on screen. Clipboard cleanup is best-effort, so browser restrictions may prevent it. ⚡ How to unhide a password — three modes - Toolbar mode: instant page-wide reveal, perfect when several masked inputs exist on the form - Loupe mode: surgical, hover-only, ideal for shoulder-surfing safety in public spaces — and press C to copy on the fly - Right-click mode: targets a single field — answers how to unhide a password without affecting other inputs The auto-hide countdown brings every revealed field back to dots automatically. No need to remember to re-mask anything. 🛡️ Privacy first The extension runs no analytics and makes no background network requests. Your passwords and browsing never leave your device. There are: • No analytics or tracking • No background data collection • No accounts or sign-in • Settings saved locally on your device, never uploaded • No third-party libraries In the background the extension touches exactly two things: the password field you pointed at, and your clipboard when you explicitly asked. The only time anything leaves your browser is when you choose to open an external page from it — the Chrome Web Store, or the feedback form you reach by rating us — and the form only sends what you type plus the extension version and your browser language, and only if you press Submit. 💡 FAQ Q: How do I unhide asterisk password fields on this site? A: Click the toolbar icon, press the keyboard shortcut, or hold the loupe key and hover. Each will unhide password characters on the page. Q: Can it generate a strong password for me? A: Yes — right-click any password field and choose Generate password. The built-in password generator fills the field (and the confirm field) with a strong, random password and copies it; adjust the length and character types in Settings. Q: Does it work inside iframes? A: Yes, for same-origin iframes. Cross-origin frames are skipped on purpose, for security. Q: Can it ever leak anything? A: It makes no background network requests and reads nothing in the background. Your passwords never leave your device. The only data that leaves is what you choose to submit in the feedback form when you rate us. Q: How to show password in password field without installing DevTools? A: That is exactly what this extension is for. One click and any password field show password text in place — no inspector needed. Q: How to unhide password quickly on a long form? A: Use the toolbar icon or the keyboard shortcut — one action and every hidden input is unmasked at once. Q: Can I copy straight from the hover loupe? A: Yes. While the loupe is showing, just press C — the value is copied and the extension tries to clear the clipboard after 30 seconds. 📌 Manifest V3 · No tracking · No accounts · No background network calls Install Show Password Fields today and never wrestle with hidden password fields again.
