A mindful social media blocker and focus extension: pause, state why, set a time limit, and stop mindless browsing Naze is a mindful website blocker extension that helps you use social media and other distracting sites with a clear purpose. Instead of immediately opening a selected website, Naze creates a short pause and asks why you want to visit. You then choose how long you need and decide whether continuing still makes sense. The goal is not to remove access to the internet. Naze adds a moment of reflection between an automatic impulse and the next click, helping you stop scrolling on autopilot without relying on a permanent restriction. A CBT-informed approach to browsing Naze draws on evidence-informed principles used in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and behavior-change research: notice the impulse, identify the intention behind it, and choose a specific boundary before acting. This simple sequence can turn habitual browsing into a more conscious decision. Naze supports reflection and self-management, but it is not therapy or a medical treatment. How Naze works: • Pause before opening selected distracting websites\ • State why you want to visit before continuing\ • Choose a social media time limit or website time limit for the session\ • Continue with a clear purpose or return to what you were doing\ • Keep the final decision in your hands instead of permanently blocking access Use Naze to reduce social media use A quick visit to a social network can easily become a long scrolling session. Naze helps you limit social media time by making the purpose and duration of each visit explicit. You can still open the site when you genuinely need it, while adding enough friction to reconsider visits driven mainly by habit. Stay focused while working or studying Naze can serve as a focus extension for work and study when news feeds, video platforms, forums, or social networks keep pulling you away from a task. Set time limits on distracting websites before entering them, then return to your work when the chosen session is over. A gentler alternative to strict site blockers Many tools block distracting websites completely. Naze takes a different approach. It works as a distraction blocker by introducing a deliberate choice rather than an automatic denial. This makes it useful when you want better screen time control but still need occasional access for messages, research, work, or planned breaks. Why use Naze: • Build more intentional browsing habits\ • Add a pause before habitual website visits\ • Decide why you are opening a site\ • Limit time on websites without giving up access completely\ • Support digital wellbeing through reflection and clear boundaries\ • Make a digital detox more flexible and sustainable Naze does not tell you never to visit a website. It helps you pause, choose why, choose how long, and decide intentionally.
