Description

Fix GA4 & get the missing features you wish you had! Unlock on-the-fly custom metrics, 1-click YoY presets, Exit Reports & more. Make Google Analytics usable again. GA4 Optimizer is a 100% free, independent Chrome extension built by a Senior Data Analyst who was frustrated by the clunky Google Analytics 4 interface. It is designed to fix your biggest reporting headaches and is fundamentally built for privacy. Your GA4 data never leaves your browser. 🔥 TOP FEATURES THAT WILL SAVE YOU HOURS ✦ Universal Data Dictionary: Stop asking "what does this event mean?" in Slack. Bring your company's tracking plan directly into GA4. See custom definitions for events, dimensions, and metrics as hover tooltips right inside your reports. Syncs automatically with Google Sheets! ✦ Advanced Table Filters: Miss the advanced table filters from Universal Analytics? We brought them back for Standard Reports. Combine multiple conditions (e.g., Views > 10k AND Path contains /shop) to slice your data with precision. ✦ Bulk Annotations: Stop repeating yourself 50 times. Create a single annotation and blast it across dozens of GA4 properties and 360 subproperties simultaneously. ✦ Bring Back Exit Pages: GA4 removed the standard Exit Pages report. We brought it back. Generate a pre-configured Exit Pages report template with a single click. ✦ Fix Shared Links ("No Access" Error): Tired of getting "Missing Permissions" when a colleague shares a GA4 link? Most of the time this is due to multiple Google accounts being used. We automatically detect this error and help you try with your other logged-in Google accounts. ✦ Read-only Exploration Date Changer: Now when someone shares an Exploration report you can finally change the date yourself without having to copy the whole report. ✦ 1-Click Date Comparisons & Presets: Stop fighting the calendar. Compare MoM or YoY instantly, including a highly accurate "matching day of week" alignment. Plus, quick presets like Last 7 Days or Last Month. 📊 REPORTING & ANALYSIS ENHANCEMENTS ✦ Percentage Change Highlighter: Make key trends pop. Visually identify significant positive or negative metric changes when comparing dates using custom color-coded thresholds. ✦ On-the-Fly Calculated Metrics: Create and save custom rates (like 'Exit Rate' or 'Conversion Rate') directly within your Standard Reports and Explorations. ✦ Automatic Statistical Significance: Instantly know if your A/B test results are trustworthy with built-in confidence calculations right inside your reports. ✦ Δ% Share Change: Go beyond raw percentages. See the change in a metric's contribution to the total (Δ%Shr) to get a much clearer picture of performance shifts. ✦ Sticky Report Headers: Never lose track of which metric column you are looking at when scrolling through long Standard Reports. 💡 EXPLORATION POWER TOOLS (Hover & Discover) ✦ Annotations in Explorations: Stop guessing what caused a data spike. We surface your property annotations directly inside your Exploration charts and tables so you always have immediate context for anomalies. ✦ Maximize View: Get your screen real estate back. Instantly expand Freeform Explorations to the maximum columns/rows possible, complete with intelligent pagination controls and keyboard shortcuts. ✦ Percentage of Column Total: Simply hover over any cell to quickly see a row's contribution to the column total. No clicking required. ✦ Performance vs. 'All Users': Quickly assess any segment's performance relative to the 'All Users' baseline on hover. ✦ Collapsible Panels: Maximize your analysis workspace with a quick toggle to collapse the "Variables" and "Tab Settings" panels. ✦ Detailed Results Shortcut: Force Explorations to use "More detailed results" (less sampling) via a quick keyboard shortcut. ⚙️ WORKFLOW & UI UPGRADES ✦ Team Sync & Backup: Stop rebuilding the same setups on every computer. Seamlessly share your Data Dictionary, custom Calculated Metrics, highlight rules, and annotation colors with your entire team using a simple share code, file, or hosted URL. ✦ Advanced Click-to-Copy: 1-click to copy data from any cell. Use a double-click for full text content, and a triple-click in Explorations to copy rich hover-tooltip data. ✦ Sticky Quick Calculator: A handy, draggable calculator widget is always accessible for quick rate and uplift calculations on any page. ✦ Highlight Sampling Icon: A subtle pulsing animation draws your attention to the data quality icon if your report is secretly using sampled data. ✦ Line Graph Customizations: Customize your line chart colors to match your reporting and presentation needs. ✦ Custom Definitions Copy/Paste: Setting up a new property? Effortlessly migrate custom dimensions, custom metrics, and calculated metrics between GA4 properties. Perfect for agencies and power users! ✦ 500 Rows Visibility: Unlock the ability to view up to 500 rows per page in Standard and Advertising Reports. ✦ International Formatting: Full support for international users that use comma number decimal formatting (e.g., 1.234,56). 🔒 PRIVATE AND SECURE We don't just promise not to sell your data; we built the extension in a way that we literally can't access it. Everything runs locally in your browser. We have no servers, no databases, and no analytics tracking of our own. 🎯 WHO IS GA4 OPTIMIZER FOR? • Data Analysts & Scientists: Stop wrestling with the UI and get straight to your data extraction, statistical significance testing, and client reporting without having to write SQL in BigQuery. • Digital Marketers & PPC Specialists: Quickly check your conversion rates, e-commerce revenue changes, and campaign performance without waiting for Looker Studio dashboards to load. • SEO Professionals: Easily filter landing pages, isolate organic traffic, and bring back the workflow you used to love in Universal Analytics. • CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) Experts: Use our built-in A/B testing statistical significance calculators right inside your Freeform Explorations. • Agencies & Freelancers: Standardize your agency's reporting overnight. GA4 Optimizer makes reporting a breeze, but what if your underlying data is broken? Check out our free sister extension: GA4 Live Debugger & DataLayer Inspector. It lets you inspect every GA4 hit and dataLayer push in real-time, view consent states, and force GA4's debug mode on all - without touching your website's code. Find it by clicking our developer name or searching the Chrome Web Store! ❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: How do I share my tracking plan or settings with my team? A: Everything is built for frictionless sharing without requiring accounts. You can sync your Data Dictionary directly from a published Google Sheet, or export your extension settings as a simple code snippet for your teammates to paste in. Q: Does this work alongside Google Tag Manager (GTM)? A: Yes! GA4 Optimizer strictly enhances the Google Analytics 4 user interface. It does not interfere with your Google Tag Manager implementations, data layers, or tracking tags. Any time you create new event parameters, our Custom Definitions copy/paste tool help you make them show up across different GA4 properties. Q: Do I need Admin access to create custom metrics? A: To create official GA4 metrics, you do need at least Editor role access. However, GA4 Optimizer lets you create calculated metrics and custom rates directly inside your Standard Reports and Explorations. You can build conversion rates on the fly without ever touching the GA4 Admin settings. Q: Does this fix the GA4 thresholding and sampling issues? A: Our "Detailed Results Shortcut" helps you instantly request unsampled data in Explorations, and our Highlighters ensure you never accidentally report on heavily sampled data. Q: My Looker Studio dashboards keep hitting GA4 API limits. Can this help? A: Yes! Because Google introduced strict GA4 API quotas, many analysts are using the native GA4 reporting interface. GA4 Optimizer upgrades the native UI to be much more powerful, so you can do your daily campaign and e-commerce reporting directly in the platform and save your API tokens for your most important dashboards. Q: Does GA4 Optimizer work with GA4 360 (Enterprise) properties? A: Absolutely. Whether you are using a standard free account or managing complex GA4 360 roll-up properties and subproperties, our features adapt seamlessly to your workspace. The Custom Definitions copy/paste tool is perfect to help with enterprise audits and large scale setups. Q: Can I use this to analyze Key Events and E-commerce tracking? A: Yes! Our Percentage Change Highlighter and Δ% Share Change features make it incredibly easy to navigate and flag how your Key Events have performed over time. You can visually spot positive and negative trends in your e-commerce tracking and evaluate monetization shifts without having to export your data to external spreadsheet tools. 🔄 BRINGING BACK THE MISSED PARTS OF UNIVERSAL ANALYTICS If you miss the simplicity of Universal Analytics (UA), GA4 Optimizer is bridging the gap. We have reintroduced familiar UA workflows like Advanced Table Filters and the Exit Pages report directly into the GA4 interface. For those who relied on Da Vinci Tools for Universal Analytics before its retirement, this is the perfect modern alternative built exclusively for GA4. *GA4 Optimizer is an independent software tool and is not developed, affiliated with, or endorsed by Google.
