The ultimate defense for your tabs. Smart Tab Protector with Undo Close, exceptions, and more to prevent accidental data loss. DefTab is the smart safety net for your browser, preventing the accidental closure of important tabs. It acts as a reliable guardian for your online documents, filled forms, and critical work sessions, ensuring you never lose your progress by mistake. 🐙✨ 🛡️ Your Digital Safety Net In a busy workflow, one misplaced Ctrl+W can lead to lost work and unnecessary stress. DefTab is the smart safety net that prevents this. It intelligently blocks accidental close attempts but stays out of your way when you click a link, giving you the peace of mind to focus on what matters. ✨ Core Features: ⭐ Smart Tab Protection: The core of DefTab. It prevents accidental closure of any tab that is not on your exception list. ⭐ Intelligent Navigation Detection: DefTab is smart enough to distinguish between an accidental close command and a deliberate click on a link, allowing you to browse normally without interruptions. ⭐ Easy Exception List: Don't need protection on a specific site? Easily add any website to an exception list via a clean user interface. Protection will be disabled for that site. ⭐ Undo Close Tab: Accidentally confirmed the close dialog? No problem. DefTab provides an "Undo" notification to instantly restore the tab you just closed. ⭐ Customizable Hotkeys: Use a convenient hotkey (Alt+W by default) to quickly add or remove the current site from your exception list on the fly. ⭐ Sleek, Modern UI: A clean, intuitive popup interface with both Light & Dark Mode support to match your system's theme. 📖 How to Use: Once installed, DefTab works automatically in the background. ➤ Protection: By default, all tabs are protected. When you try to close one, you'll see a browser confirmation dialog. ➤ Managing Exceptions: Click the DefTab icon in your toolbar to open the popup. From there, you can add the current site to the exception list or manually type in any site. ➤ Using the Hotkey: While on any website, press Alt+W to instantly toggle protection for that site. You'll receive a notification confirming the action. Customization Options You have full control over how DefTab works. Open the popup and navigate to the Settings tab to configure: 🔘 Master On/Off Switch: Globally enable or disable all features of the extension with a single click. ↩️ Undo Close Tab: Enable or disable the "Undo" notification feature according to your preference. 📛 "Protection Active" Badge: Choose whether to see the small "Protection Active" notification when you visit a protected page. ⌨️ Configure Hotkeys: You can change the default hotkey by navigating to chrome://extensions/shortcuts in your browser.
