Highlight text on any webpage in multiple colors and save notes. # Highlighter Tool: Your Ultimate Web Research Companion Transform the way you interact with information on the web with the Highlighter Tool. Whether you are a student, researcher, journalist, or professional, our extension provides a seamless and powerful way to capture, organize, and export critical information from any webpage. ## Capture Everything That Matters In the digital age, we are constantly bombarded with information. The Highlighter Tool allows you to slow down and focus on what truly matters. With just a simple click and drag, you can highlight key passages, interesting facts, and vital data points directly on any website. Our intuitive interface stays out of your way, allowing you to focus on your reading while still being powerful enough to handle all your research needs. ### Multi-Color Precision Organization is the key to effective research. That’s why the Highlighter Tool offers four distinct, vibrant colors—Yellow, Green, Blue, and Pink—allowing you to categorize your highlights on the fly. - Use **Yellow** for general key points. - Use **Green** for supporting evidence or quotes. - Use **Blue** for questions or areas needing further investigation. - Use **Pink** for critical warnings or conflicting information. By color-coding your research, you can quickly scan a page and understand the context of your highlights without re-reading every word. ## Persistent and Reliable Never lose a thought again. The Highlighter Tool is built with persistence at its core. Your highlights are automatically saved to your browser's local storage as you make them. This means that even if you close your tab, restart your browser, or even restart your computer, your highlights will be right where you left them the next time you visit the page. It’s like having a permanent marker for the entire internet. ## Contextual Notes for Deeper Insights Highlights alone are often not enough. Sometimes you need to record why a particular passage is important or how it relates to your project. With the Highlighter Tool, you can add inline notes to any highlight. Simply click on a highlighted section to bring up the note editor. Add your thoughts, reminders, or cross-references directly to the source. These notes are saved alongside your highlights, providing a rich, contextual layer to your research. ## The Highlights Gallery: Your Centralized Research Hub Managing highlights across dozens of tabs can be a nightmare. Our dedicated Sidebar Gallery solves this problem by providing a centralized view of every highlight you’ve ever made. - **Grouped by Domain:** Your highlights are automatically organized by the website they came from, making it easy to find information from specific sources. - **Quick Navigation:** Each highlight in the gallery includes a direct link back to the original source page, so you can jump back into the context instantly. - **Clean Interface:** The gallery is designed to be modern, minimalist, and distraction-free, allowing you to review your research efficiently. ## Export and Integrate: Markdown Support Your research shouldn't be trapped in your browser. The Highlighter Tool features a powerful Export as Markdown function. With a single click, you can generate a beautifully formatted Markdown file containing all your highlights, organized by domain, and including your personal notes and source URLs. This makes it incredibly easy to: - Import your research into tools like Obsidian, Notion, or Roam Research. - Share your findings with colleagues or classmates. - Include quotes and citations directly in your papers and reports. ## Privacy and Security First We believe your research is your business. The Highlighter Tool is designed with a "Privacy First" philosophy. - **Local Storage Only:** All your highlights and notes are stored locally on your own device. We do not use any external servers to store your data. - **No Tracking:** We do not track your browsing history or collect any personal information. - **Total Control:** You have full control over your data. You can clear all your highlights at any time with a single click. ## Built for the Modern Web The Highlighter Tool is a Manifest V3 extension, ensuring it meets the latest standards for performance, security, and battery efficiency.
