A secure, privacy-focused local vault for managing and organizing your browser bookmarks. Sanctuar is a private bookmark manager. Your bookmarks are encrypted on your device before being saved. Nobody can read them except you. HOW IT WORKS This extension works together with a small companion app (the Sanctuar API) that you run on your own computer. When you save a bookmark, the extension encrypts it using your password, then sends the encrypted data to the companion app for storage. Since encryption happens in your browser, the stored data is unreadable without your password. You can run the companion app on your computer, on a home server, or anywhere you want. You stay in control. Want quick access without typing your password every time? You can set up a PIN code. The extension also locks automatically after a period of inactivity to keep your bookmarks safe. FEATURES • Organize bookmarks into collections with custom icons • Add color-coded tags for easy filtering • Search across all your bookmarks instantly • Pin your most used bookmarks to the top • Hide sensitive bookmarks from the main view • Import bookmarks from your browser • Export encrypted backups • Dark and light themes --- TECHNICAL DETAILS • Argon2id key derivation (512 MiB) • XChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption • Zero-knowledge server • Open source --- GETTING STARTED 1. Clone: git clone https://github.com/aoculi/sanctuar.git 2. Install: pnpm install 3. Run: pnpm run api 4. Create your account in the extension More info: https://github.com/aoculi/sanctuar
