Description
Select text or box any page region → AI explain, search, shop, or generate images. Captures stay marked and sync to nodx desktop. What's new in 1.4 — works out of the box • Your first AI action starts the free trial automatically — 2,000 credits, no signup, no API key. Run out? Recharge or switch to your own key, right from the answer panel. • Everything from 1.3 stays: one-time credit packs (handled by Stripe), the full wheel unlocked in free mode after a top-up, 16 interface languages, and one design language across the extension. nodx Lens turns anything you see on a webpage — a phrase, a product photo, a chart — into instant AI action. Select text or box any region of the page, and an action wheel appears: Explain, Search, Shop, Generate, Save. Results stream in place. No tab-switching, no new chat thread to clutter, no copy-pasting into another tool. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ WHO IT'S FOR ═══════════════════════════════════════════ - Anyone reading long AI replies in a chat tool — get a side-channel definition without polluting your main conversation. - Knowledge workers who skim research papers and technical docs and want fast context on a term they don't know. - Shoppers and collectors — box a product photo and jump straight to the shopping site you configured, or turn it into style-exploration images. - People who collect annotations as they read — every explanation leaves a persistent underline, every capture leaves a marked box you can revisit and act on again. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ CORE FEATURES ═══════════════════════════════════════════ 🎡 One action wheel, two ways in — fully customizable Select text, or box any region of the page ("📸 Screenshot region" in the side panel). Either way the same four-spoke wheel appears: Explain / Search, Save, Shop, Generate. Every spoke is yours to change: icon (emoji library or your own image), name, colour, action kind, prompt text, and submenus of up to 3 sub-items — with a live preview while you edit. 🔍 Select-to-explain Highlight 2–500 characters, pick Explain, and a panel slides in below the highlight with a streaming explanation — a quick definition with one concrete example, rendered as formatted text. A "deepen" button swaps in a longer explanation when you want it. 👁 Vision on any region Box a product photo, a chart, a UI — ask "what is this?" about the exact pixels. Shopping lets the AI name the product, then opens your chosen destination with that query. 🧭 Search where YOU search The "AI identify → open URL" action ships with a preset library covering general web search, image search, shopping, video, social, and encyclopedia sites — pick from a dropdown, or paste any custom search-URL prefix of your own. ✏️ Instructions that act Type what you want done — "translate this", "extract the dates", "find it on my shopping site" — and follow up right in the result panel. Instructions that name a destination the wheel knows open the real results page for you. Every run lands in the side-panel history with a reopen link. 🎨 Image generation From selected text or a boxed region, generate one clean render or a 2×2 style grid with an editable style template (bring a Google AI key, or recharge credits). ⚡ Free mode & credits Your first AI action starts the trial automatically — an anonymous username and 2,000 credits, no email, no password, no card (rename or sign out any time in Settings). A one-time credit pack unlocks screenshot questions and image generation. Or bring your own API key and pay your provider directly — switchable any time, per provider, each with its own saved key. 📦 Boxes are action hubs Every capture leaves a highlight box on the page. Click it to reopen the wheel on the same capture — no re-selecting. The corner badge summarizes what happened there; hover to delete. 🗂 The side panel remembers everything Captures from the current page stay on top, each with its own Q&A thread. A collapsible global history logs every search, shopping trip, and generated image, self-managed within a 1 GB local budget. 🌊 Real streaming Words appear as the model generates them — close the panel early if it's off-track. 🌍 16 interface languages, switchable in Settings. 🖥 Works with the nodx desktop app (optional): captures sync over 127.0.0.1 — your machine only. The extension is fully useful without it. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ PRIVACY ═══════════════════════════════════════════ Bring your own key and this extension has no backend at all: ✓ Your API keys, settings, captures, and history live only in chrome.storage.local on your own machine. ✓ Requests go directly from your browser to the AI provider you configured. ✓ Desktop sync targets 127.0.0.1 (your own computer) and can be switched off. ✓ No analytics, no telemetry, no trackers, no ads. The one exception is free mode, and you have to turn it on yourself: your text questions then route through our server (aicon.solutions) so we can pay for the model on your behalf. That server stores the username you invented, the token issued to it, and its credit counters — never your questions, answers, or IP address. Full policy: https://aicon.solutions/privacy The trial account is created automatically on first use (never at install): a random username and token, nothing more. Registration is rate-limited per network using a daily-rotating one-way hash — the address itself is never stored. We also keep anonymous aggregate counts of what free mode is used for (question / instruction / screenshot / image, and which site an instruction opened) — never linked to any account, raw events auto-delete within 90 days. Each forwarded request carries a pseudonymous hashed identifier so the AI provider can flag abuse without ever receiving your username. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ PAYMENTS ═══════════════════════════════════════════ Credit packs are optional one-time purchases made on our website and handled by Stripe — the extension contains no payment code, nothing renews, and it works fully without ever buying one. Credits land on your account within seconds of payment and never expire; unused credits are refundable within 14 days via contact@aicon.solutions. Details: https://aicon.solutions/nodx/pricing/ ═══════════════════════════════════════════ SUPPORTED PROVIDERS ═══════════════════════════════════════════ Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and OpenRouter (its free-model tier works with a free key) — each with its own saved key and model picker, plus a local-gateway option that runs through your Claude Code subscription with no key at all. Change provider and model any time from Settings or the side panel. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ HOW IT WORKS (2-MINUTE SETUP) ═══════════════════════════════════════════ 1. Install — Settings opens on first install. 2. Either invent a username (free mode, 2,000 credits) or pick a provider and paste your own API key. 3. Go to any webpage — highlight something, or open the side panel and box a region. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ CONTACT / FEEDBACK ═══════════════════════════════════════════ https://aicon.solutions/nodx/lens/ · contact@aicon.solutions · X (Twitter): https://x.com/LaoMo9394 nodx is a small toolkit for thinking with AI as a sparring partner, not a replacement.
