Piez displays optimizations made by Akamai Image Manager, Resource Optimizer, Push/Preconnect, and Script Manager. The purpose of this extension is to show how the Akamai Image & Video Manager, A2 Push/Preconnect, Resource Optimizer, and Script Management services help to optimize a web page. More information about these Akamai services can be found at the following links: Image & Video Manager: https://techdocs.akamai.com/ivm/docs/welcome-ivm Adaptive Acceleration: https://techdocs.akamai.com/adaptive-acceleration/docs/welcome-adaptive-acceleration Resource Optimizer: https://techdocs.akamai.com/ion/docs/set-up-adaptive-acceleration Script Management: https://techdocs.akamai.com/script-management/docs/welcome-script-management When loading a page with the extension enabled, the extension will display information about the optimizations and savings for various assets on the page. A "mode" can be selected from the Piez Configurations menu, depending on what Akamai services are applied on the page. Modes include: * Disabled * Image Manager (Simple) * Image Manager (Advanced) * Push/Preconnect/Preload * Resource Optimizer (Simple) * Resource Optimizer (Advanced) * Script Management For example, when the "Image Manager (Simple)" mode is selected, and a web page is loaded, optimization information will be displayed on the Piez tab in Chrome Developer Tools. Metrics such as "Total Saved Bytes" for Image and Videos, as well as the sizes of individual original and optimized images and videos are all displayed.
