A focus timer built for content creators — not a generic site blocker. Creator Focus runs a configurable work/break timer (45/15 by default, or pick your own) and blocks the social platforms that eat your work sessions — the ones you choose — the moment a work session starts. No setup beyond picking your durations and the platforms you want blocked. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT FROM A GENERIC BLOCKER (StayFocusd, Forest, etc.): those stop at "blocked." Creator Focus is built around the actual creator workflow — every break shows a short, concrete content tip (batch your hooks, repurpose a long-form piece, study your top comment, and more — all from a local bank, nothing pulled from the internet), and it tracks how much time each platform would have eaten, broken down per site, so you can see your own patterns over time. WHAT YOU GET • Configurable timer — pick a preset (25/5, 45/15, 50/10, 90/20) or set your own work/break minutes, controlled from the popup. • Blocks only what you choose, only while you work — toggle any of the 8 supported platforms on or off. Blocking is active only during the work phase; breaks are yours, no restrictions. • A creator tip on every break — short, concrete, from a local bank of tips written for content creators. No AI, no external API, nothing sent anywhere to generate it. • Local stats, time only — see how much time each platform would have taken during your work sessions. Never a URL, never a browsing history entry — just a number of minutes per domain, stored on your device. • Full-screen focus reminder — while a blocked platform is open during a work session, a clear overlay with the site name and the time remaining takes its place, so you're not tempted to scroll past a small banner. HONEST ABOUT PERMISSIONS • storage — the only place your timer, chosen platforms, and stats live: chrome.storage.local on your own device. Nothing syncs, nothing leaves your browser. • alarms — wakes the timer to switch from work to break (and back) at the right second, even if the browser was idle. No setInterval running in the background. • No host_permissions, no <all_urls>. The 8 supported platforms are declared as static content-script matches in the manifest, which is what lets the extension show the focus overlay the instant you land on one of them, with nothing broader requested. You can't add a domain outside that list. • Zero network requests. No analytics beacon, no ads, no telemetry, no remote code — everything the extension needs ships in the extension itself. WHY BLOCKING PAUSES DURING BREAKS: the point of a break is to actually rest — Creator Focus doesn't add friction there. Blocking resumes automatically when the next work session starts.
