Control each website's appearance with Follow System, Preserve Site Design, Force Dark, and Force Light modes. Dark Light gives you control over the way the web looks—site by site, moment by moment. The web should not force one appearance on everyone. A bright page can be tiring late at night. A dark interface can be hard to read in daylight, on a dim display, or when you simply prefer a light canvas. And some sites already look exactly right as they are. Dark Light is a browser extension for people who want the choice. It lets you decide whether each website follows your system, keeps its own design, uses a dark theme, or uses a light theme. This is more than a one-way dark mode extension. Dark Light gives equal attention to dark mode and light mode, so you can darken a bright website or bring a dark website back to a clear, comfortable light appearance. Instead of accepting a single global switch, create website appearance rules that reflect how you actually browse. MAKE EVERY WEBSITE FEEL RIGHT Choose a default appearance for the web, then fine-tune any website when you need to. The extension is designed to make appearance control quick and understandable: • Follow System Let websites follow the light or dark appearance of your operating system. It is a simple choice for people who already use a system-wide schedule or switch themes manually. • Preserve Site Design Leave a website untouched. This is useful when a site has a carefully designed appearance, when you prefer its built-in theme, or when you want a specific site to stay exactly as its creators intended. • Force Dark Turn bright websites into a more comfortable dark appearance for late-night reading, focused work, and reduced glare. • Force Light Turn overly dark websites into a clearer light appearance. This is ideal for daytime use, printing-oriented work, color-sensitive tasks, and anyone who reads better on a light background. • Change by Time Set the mode that fits the time of day, so your browsing appearance can shift between dark and light on your schedule. A RULE FOR THE WEBSITE IN FRONT OF YOU Dark Light makes it easy to change the current website without losing control of the rest of your browsing. Open the extension, choose the mode that works for the page you are viewing, and save a rule for that site. Need a consistent setting across related pages? Enable subdomain matching to apply the same appearance rule where it makes sense. Use one global default when you want a simple, predictable experience. Add per-site rules when a particular website needs different treatment. Keep a news site dark for evening reading, preserve a design tool's original colors, force a light theme for documentation, or let an online workspace follow your system. Your rules are yours, and each site can have the appearance that helps you use it best. DARK MODE WHEN YOU WANT IT. LIGHT MODE WHEN YOU NEED IT. Many browser extensions treat light mode as an afterthought. Dark Light does not. A dark interface is not automatically better, and a light interface is not automatically worse. The best theme depends on the website, your surroundings, the task in front of you, and your own preferences. Use dark mode to make bright pages easier on the eyes in low light. Use light mode to improve readability when a site's dark design feels too heavy or low-contrast. Switch to Preserve Site Design when the original page is already doing a good job. Or choose Follow System and let your browser fit naturally into the rest of your day. The result is a more deliberate web experience: fewer jarring pages, less unnecessary glare, and no need to settle for a website's default appearance when it does not work for you. BUILT FOR REAL BROWSING, NOT JUST A DEMO Dark Light is made for the everyday mix of websites people actually use: articles, search results, dashboards, documentation, online tools, communities, shopping pages, and more. The controls are simple enough for a quick adjustment, yet flexible enough for a personal set of website rules. You do not need to choose between an all-dark browser and an all-light browser. You can create a browser appearance that adapts to you. Start with a default, adjust individual sites as you encounter them, and return to the settings whenever your preferences change. PRIVACY THAT STAYS OUT OF THE WAY Your website appearance rules and display processing stay on your device. Dark Light does not collect or transmit your browsing history, page content, or keystrokes. It is built to help you view websites the way you prefer—not to turn your browsing into a product. WHY CHOOSE DARK LIGHT? • Control dark and light appearance for every website. • Choose Follow System, Preserve Site Design, Force Dark, Force Light, or Change by Time. • Create per-site rules instead of relying on a single browser-wide setting. • Match subdomains when you want one rule to cover related pages. • Keep sites untouched whenever their original design already works for you. • Make bright websites more comfortable at night. • Make dark websites easier to read during the day. • Keep your browsing preferences personal and local. YOUR WEB, YOUR THEME Dark Light puts the decision back where it belongs: with you. Whether you want a consistent dark browsing experience, a dependable light mode, or a different theme for every website, Dark Light gives you the control to make the web feel more comfortable, more readable, and more like your own. Install Dark Light and choose how the web looks.
