Generate realistic typos in any text. Select text, right-click, and the typo version is copied instantly. Perfectly typed messages can look a little too perfect. Typo turns any text into a version with realistic typos — right in your browser, in seconds. TWO WAYS TO USE IT 1. Right-click: select text on any page and choose “Typo – Generate typos”. In text fields the selection is replaced on the spot; everywhere else the typo version goes straight to your clipboard. A short confirmation appears on the page. 2. Popup: click the Typo icon or press Ctrl+Shift+Y (Cmd+Shift+Y on Mac). Text you already selected is filled in automatically — type or paste anything else and hit “Generate typos”. 9 REALISTIC ERROR TYPES You decide which errors appear: • Fat Finger: letters replaced with adjacent keys (Hello → Hwllo) • Double letters (Hello → Helllo) • Missing letters (Hello → Hllo) • Swapped letters (Hello → Hlelo) • Lowercase start (Hello → hello) • Shift slip (Hello → HEllo) • Umlaut substitution (über → ueber) • Missing spaces (Hello World → HelloWorld) • Missing punctuation (Hello. → Hello) FULL CONTROL • Set the error rate as a percentage (1–20% of all words) or as a fixed number of errors (1–20) • Switch each of the 9 error types on or off • Define safe words that are never modified — names, brands, anything that has to stay correct • Every change is highlighted: click a highlight to undo that single error • Not quite right? “Regenerate” creates a new variant instantly BUILT FOR REALISM • The error rate is word-based, so it stays consistent no matter how long your words are • The first letter of a word stays intact — just like real typing • Links, e-mail addresses and @mentions are never touched • Adjacent keys come from both the QWERTY and the QWERTZ layout SETTINGS THAT FOLLOW YOU Error rate, error types and safe words are saved in your Chrome profile and sync to every device you are signed in on. 100% PRIVATE Typo works entirely on your device — offline, without an account. No data collection, no tracking, no servers. The extension has no permanent access to the websites you visit: it only touches the current tab at the moment you invoke it.
