Description
Bulk download Gmail attachments as ZIP. No login required, runs 100% locally in your browser. You have 47 attachments scattered across your inbox. You need them all. Right now. Maybe you are switching jobs and need every contract PDF from the last two years. Maybe your accountant just asked for all invoice attachments from Q1. Maybe you are archiving a project and need every file your team ever sent you. Whatever the reason, you are staring at Gmail thinking: "I really have to open each email, click each attachment, and download them one by one?" That is the problem. Gmail gives you no way to bulk download attachments. Not from a thread. Not from a search. Not from a label. One file at a time, every time. This extension fixes that in one click. No login. No sign-up. No permissions to approve. Just install and go. WHY DOWNLOADING GMAIL ATTACHMENTS IS SO PAINFUL Gmail was built for reading and writing emails, not for managing files. When you need to pull attachments in bulk, you hit walls: - No native bulk download. Gmail forces you to open each message and save each file individually. - No ZIP option. Even within a single thread with 10 attachments, there is no "download all as ZIP" button for the full conversation. - No list view download. You can see attachment icons in your inbox, but there is no way to grab them all without opening every email. Most people give up and do it manually. Or they forward everything to themselves. Or they pay for a migration tool when all they needed was their attachments. This extension does one thing well: it gets your Gmail attachments out of your inbox and into a ZIP file on your computer. Fast, local, private. WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES Gmail Attachment Downloader runs inside Gmail as a floating button. Click it, and a side panel slides open showing every attachment found on the current page. Select the ones you want and download them all as a single ZIP file. No external servers. No cloud uploads. No login required. Everything happens in your browser. Here is what you get: Thread Download - Open any email thread, click the button, and download all attachments from that conversation in one ZIP file. PDFs, images, documents, spreadsheets - everything. Inbox Scan - On your inbox list, the extension shows which emails have attachments. Select the ones you want, and it auto-collects all attachments from those emails into one ZIP. File Preview List - Before downloading, you see every attachment listed with filename and file type. Select or deselect individually. No surprises. Progress Tracking - A real-time progress bar shows download status so you know exactly where things stand. Smart Deduplication - Same file attached multiple times? The extension handles duplicates automatically so your ZIP stays clean. HOW IT WORKS 1. Install the extension. No sign-in needed. 2. Open Gmail in your browser. 3. Click the blue floating button in the bottom right corner. 4. See all attachments listed from your current email or inbox. 5. Select the files you want and click "Save as ZIP." That is it. Three seconds from click to ZIP file on your desktop. WHY NO LOGIN IS REQUIRED Most attachment tools ask you to sign in with Google and grant "read your email" permission. That scares people - and it should. Those tools get full access to every email in your account. This extension works differently. It reads attachment links directly from the Gmail page you already have open in your browser. It uses your existing Gmail session. No OAuth. No API tokens. No "read your email" permission. The result: minimal permissions, maximum privacy. WHY LOCAL-FIRST MATTERS Most attachment tools download your files to their servers, process them there, and let you re-download from their cloud. Your private documents, contracts, medical records, and financial statements all pass through someone else's infrastructure. This extension never sends your files anywhere. Attachments download directly from Gmail to your browser. The ZIP is created locally using JSZip. The file saves to your computer. No middleman. No server logs. No data retention policy to worry about. REAL SCENARIOS WHERE THIS HELPS Accounting and tax season: Your accountant asks for all receipts and invoices. Instead of opening each email, open your inbox, scan for attachments, and download everything in one ZIP. Job transitions: Leaving a company and need to save all attachments from your work email. Download everything in minutes instead of hours. Project archiving: A project wraps up and you want every design file, brief, and deliverable saved locally. Open the project label, scan, download. Freelancer file management: Clients send assets via email. Instead of hunting through threads, grab all attachments from that conversation in one shot. PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES NOT DO - Does not require any login or sign-in. - Does not access Gmail API or request OAuth tokens. - Does not store your emails or attachments anywhere. - Does not track usage, run analytics, or share data with third parties. - Does not access contacts, calendar, or any data beyond the current Gmail page. The only permission it needs: - storage - To remember your button visibility preference. That is the only thing stored. Everything else runs on the Gmail page you already have open. No background processes. No network requests to external servers. FREE AND UNLIMITED No account required. No trial period. No feature lockout. No "upgrade to Pro" after 7 days. Install it. Use it. That is the deal. WHO THIS IS FOR - Accountants and bookkeepers who need invoice attachments organized - Freelancers who receive client assets via email - Anyone leaving a job who needs to archive email attachments - Privacy-conscious users who refuse to grant "read your email" permissions - Small business owners who need a simple backup solution - Anyone who has ever thought "I wish I could just download all these attachments at once" GETTING STARTED Install the extension.
