Frees RAM by discarding inactive tabs — without ever losing them. Wisp frees up memory by putting your inactive tabs to sleep — and unlike the old suspenders, it never loses them. Most tab suspenders replace your tab's real address with their own page. Uninstall the extension, restart the browser, or hit a bug, and your tabs are gone. Wisp doesn't do that. It uses Chrome's built-in native tab discarding, so a sleeping tab keeps its real URL, title and favicon — your tabs survive restarts, uninstalls, and session managers. Featherlight, by design. WHY WISP • Never loses your tabs — native discard keeps the real URL; nothing to "recover" • Actually frees RAM — real native discarding, not a fake placeholder page • 100% local — no account, no login, no tracking, no network calls. Ever. • Works on Chrome, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi and Opera (Manifest V3) • Speaks your language — 14 languages, auto-selected NEVER SLEEPS THE WRONG TAB Wisp checks the page at the last moment before sleeping it, so it won't discard a tab you're using. It never sleeps tabs that are: • playing audio or video • holding unsaved form input (it won't eat your half-written comment) • pinned • active / on screen Plus your own exceptions: keep any tab or any whole domain awake with one click. KEEPS YOUR PLACE When a slept tab wakes up, Wisp restores your scroll position and form input — so you pick up exactly where you left off (passwords are never captured). SIMPLE, OR POWERFUL One-click popup for the essentials; an Advanced page for the timer (in minutes), protection rules and your never-sleep domain list. Right-click menu and keyboard shortcuts included. Switching from The Great Suspender, Auto Tab Discard, or Tab Suspender? Wisp is the trustworthy, maintained, no-account Manifest V3 alternative. Free. Open about what it does. Your tabs, featherlight.
