Description
Floating calculator for any webpage: instant quick math without switching tabs. Draggable, copy results, keyboard & dark mode. 📟 Floating In-Page Calculator — A quick calculator on top of any webpage ⭐ Why you'll love it Floating In-Page Calculator puts a fast, distraction-free calculator right on top of the page you're already reading — no new tab, no separate app, no losing your place. Shopping and want to check a discount? Reviewing a report and need to verify a figure? Just do the math where you are, copy the result, and keep going. The calculator lives in its own isolated layer (Shadow DOM), so it never disturbs the page and the page can never break how it looks. Lightweight, private, and ready in one click — that's it. 🌟 Key Features * Floating & non-intrusive: A self-contained widget that sits on top of the page without affecting its content or layout. * Stays where you left it: Remembers its position and collapsed/expanded state per page, and restores automatically when you reload — without stealing focus from the page. * Drag to move: Reposition it anywhere using the grip handle on the right of the title bar. * Collapse to save space: Shrink it to a small pill (tucked neatly into the nearest corner) and expand it again whenever you need it. * Smart keyboard focus: Type with your main keyboard or numpad — but only while the calculator is active, so it never hijacks what you type into the webpage. * Essential math: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and negative numbers. * One-click copy: Click the result display to copy the current value to your clipboard (as a plain number, ready to paste into any field). A brief "Copied ✓" confirms it. * Readable numbers: Large numbers show thousands separators in your own locale's format automatically (e.g., 1,000,000.5 in the US, 1.000.000,5 in Vietnam). * Automatic dark mode: The widget follows your system's light/dark theme, so it blends in on dark websites instead of glaring. * Always in view: If it ever ends up partly off-screen, it slides back into the visible area. * Private by design: No sign-up, no accounts, no tracking. It never reads, collects, or transmits the content of the pages you visit. * Works almost everywhere: Regular websites plus internal/intranet sites, IP addresses (e.g., http://192.168.1.10), and localhost. On the few pages the browser blocks by design (such as chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store, or a page that failed to load), a short notification tells you exactly why it couldn't open. 🧭 The Title Bar Three areas, each with one clear job: * ⌨ Left button — Click to activate keyboard input. It turns green while the calculator is "listening" to your keyboard, and stays gray when your keystrokes go to the webpage instead. * "Calculator" (center) — Click to collapse or expand. * ⋮⋮ Right handle — Drag here to move the calculator. 💡 How to Use * Open / Close: Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar to show or hide the calculator on the current page. If the page can't host the calculator (some browser-internal pages), you'll get a brief notification explaining the reason instead. * Activate the keyboard: Click the ⌨ button (or any number button, or the display). The ⌨ button turns green — now your keyboard goes to the calculator. Click anywhere on the page to hand the keyboard back (the button turns gray). * Calculate: Enter an expression using the on-screen buttons or your keyboard. - Numbers & operators: 0–9, + - * /, and the decimal point (.), from the main keyboard or numpad. - Enter or = : calculate the result. - Backspace or ⌫ : delete the last character. - Delete or C : clear everything. - Negative numbers are supported (for example, 5 * -3 = -15). * Copy the result: Click the display to copy its current value to the clipboard. It copies a plain number (no thousands separators) so it pastes cleanly into forms and other fields. * Move: Drag the grip handle (⋮⋮) on the right side of the title bar. * Collapse / Restore: Click the "Calculator" title to shrink it to a pill, or click again to bring it back. 🔒 Permissions & Why They're Needed This extension requests only the minimum required to work, and it acts only when you click its icon. It does not read, collect, store, or transmit the content of the pages you visit. * activeTab — Lets the extension open or close the calculator on the tab you are currently viewing, at the moment you click the icon. * scripting — Lets the extension place the calculator's interface onto the current page. * storage — Remembers the calculator's position, its collapsed/expanded state, and which pages you have opened it on, so it can restore correctly after a reload. * notifications — Lets the extension show a brief message when a page can't host the calculator (for example, browser-internal pages), so you know why nothing appeared instead of it failing silently. * Access to websites (all URLs) — So the calculator can appear on whatever website you choose to use it on, including internal/intranet sites and IP addresses. It stays completely inactive until you click the icon. ✅ Easy to use — ⏱ Fast — 📌 Always ready when you need it! 💛 Enjoying it?
