Never lose your place on the web. Handoff Links enriches the URLs you share so they open at the exact spot, on any device. Stop saying "skip to 1:32." Handoff Links adds context to the URLs you share — like a YouTube video timestamp or a GitHub scroll position — so the link always opens at the exact spot, on any device and in any browser. The person you send it to doesn't need the extension, an account, or anything else. They just click, and the page is already where you meant it to be. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open a supported page and click the Handoff Links icon. 2. The popup shows your link with an added #hl= tag that carries the current spot. 3. Copy it and share anywhere — chat, email, docs, notes. When the link is opened, the page restores that spot automatically. SUPPORTED TODAY • YouTube — preserves and restores the exact video timestamp. • GitHub — preserves and restores your scroll position in long files and READMEs. More adapters (Figma, Notion, Linear) are on the roadmap, and the project is built so anyone can add one. PRIVACY-FIRST BY DESIGN This extension has no servers, so your data has nowhere to go. The captured spot is encoded into the link's URL fragment (the part after #), which browsers never send over the network. • No accounts — nothing to sign up for. • No analytics, no telemetry, no cookies. • No external requests of any kind. • Just three minimal permissions, and the full source is public. None of these send data anywhere. Everything happens locally in your browser.
