Extracts YouTube comments into a hidden DOM element for Ask Gemini to read, with chunked pagination. Gemini YouTube Comment Feeder Unlock the full analytical power of Chrome's native "Ask Gemini" side panel by securely loading massive YouTube comment sections without crashing your browser. 🚀 Overview The Gemini YouTube Comment Feeder is a lightweight, utility-driven Chrome extension designed to bridge the gap between YouTube's resource-heavy user interface and Google Chrome's built-in AI assistant. By default, Chrome's native "Ask Gemini" panel can only read text that is physically rendered in the browser's Document Object Model (DOM). Because YouTube uses "lazy loading"—only rendering comments as you scroll—the AI cannot analyze an entire comment section. If you attempt to manually scroll and force YouTube to render thousands of comments, the heavy visual elements (avatars, complex reply threads, JavaScript event listeners) will inevitably cause severe memory bloat, lagging, and tab crashes. This extension solves that problem instantly. It bypasses YouTube's visual rendering entirely, fetching the raw text of the comments via internal data streams, and injecting them into a visually hidden but semantically readable HTML container. Gemini can now read everything, and your browser stays fast. ✨ Key Features - Zero API Keys Required: Unlike other tools, this extension does not require you to provide a YouTube Data API key or a Gemini API key. It leverages your existing browser session and Chrome's native Gemini integration. - Crash-Free Data Extraction: Prevents memory bloat by completely skipping YouTube's heavy DOM UI rendering. It only extracts and stores pure, unformatted text. - Character-Based Chunking: To prevent overwhelming the AI's context window, the extension loads comments in precise character-limit batches (defaulting to ~15,000 characters). This ensures Gemini reads 100% of the provided data without silently truncating it. - Semantic AI Targeting: Uses specific ARIA tags (role="region", aria-label) to ensure browser-based accessibility parsers—which power Chrome's AI—correctly identify, prioritize, and read the off-screen text. - Seamless UI Integration: Injects a clean, native-looking "Load Next Chunk for Ask Gemini" button directly beneath the YouTube video title. - No Account Required: Works entirely locally on your machine. 🛠️ How It Works (The Technical Magic) When you click the load button, the extension securely intercepts the INNERTUBE_API_KEY and continuation tokens already present in your active YouTube tab. It makes direct, background network requests to YouTube's internal endpoints to retrieve the raw comment data. It strips away all images, styling, and nested HTML, injecting only the pure text into a <div> positioned off-screen (left: -9999px). Because we apply aria-hidden="false" to this container, the text remains invisible to your eyes but serves as a brightly lit billboard for Chrome's "Ask Gemini" parser. 📖 Step-by-Step Usage Guide 1. Open a Video: Navigate to any YouTube video. 2. Load the Data: Click the blue Load Next Chunk for Ask Gemini button located just below the video's title. 3. Wait for Confirmation: The status text next to the button will indicate when the fetch is complete (e.g., "Loaded ~15050 characters"). 4. Open Gemini: Click the native Chrome "Ask Gemini" icon in your browser toolbar or sidebar. 5. Prompt the AI: Ask Gemini to analyze the data. (See the "Best Prompts" section below). 6. Paginate: If you want to analyze the next batch of comments, simply click the Load Next Chunk button again. The hidden container will clear and populate with the next segment of the comment thread. 💡 Best Prompts for Ask Gemini Because the data is stored in a specific hidden container, you will get the best results by explicitly pointing Gemini to it. Copy and paste these prompts into the Ask Gemini panel: The Setup Prompt: "Analyze the raw HTML document of this page. Locate the region labeled 'Extracted YouTube Comments Data' (ID: gemini-hidden-comments-container). Base all following answers strictly on the text found within this container."Sentiment Analysis: "Based on the hidden comments container, what is the overall sentiment of the viewers? Are they positive, negative, or mixed? Provide the top 3 reasons for their sentiment."Timestamp Extraction: "Scan the hidden comments container and list every timestamp mentioned by viewers, along with the context of what happens at that timestamp."Constructive Criticism: "Looking at the extracted comments, what is the most common piece of constructive criticism or requested feature viewers are asking the creator for?"FAQ Generation: "Identify the top 5 most frequently asked questions within these comments and draft a brief answer for each based on the video context." 🎯 Who is this for? Content Creators: Instantly gauge audience reaction, find video ideas requested by fans, and summarize feedback without scrolling for hours. Marketers & Researchers: Perform rapid sentiment analysis on product launches, trailers, or controversial topics.Casual Viewers: Quickly find out if a tutorial actually works or if a video is clickbait by asking the AI to summarize the consensus. 🔒 Privacy & SecurityYour data remains yours. The Gemini YouTube Comment Feeder is strictly a client-side utility. No Tracking: We do not track your browsing history, which videos you watch, or what you prompt the AI.No External Servers: The extension does not route data through external third-party servers.
