Arabic Locker is both a flashcard and quiz app that is designed to help enthusiasts and beginners alike to practice and learn… Arabic Locker is both a flashcard and quiz app that is designed to help enthusiasts and beginners alike to practice and learn nearly 4,000 basic and most commonly used words and phrases in the Arabic language based on the Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) literary standard. Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is the literary standard used all across the Middle East and North Africa (e.g. Egypt, Iraq, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria, etc) and is one of the official six languages of the United Nations. Most printed matter in the Arab League—including most books, newspapers, magazines, official documents, and reading primers for small children—is written in MSA. The nearly 4,000 words and phrases are segmented to six levels and as the user gain familiarity of the existing characters in the first level, the app will adjust the word list to gradually include characters from all the subsequent levels. The learning of new words are relayed and supported via informative flashcards depending on the user's preference. Word recognition is reinforced through repeated exposure and testing, increasing or decreasing access depending on the outcome of the quiz for each of the individual characters.
