Generate real-time AI captions and bilingual subtitles for videos. Translate speech into 30 languages while you watch online. Understand online videos with real-time captions and translations. Live Subtitles & Video Translator generates synchronized subtitles from the video you are watching and displays them directly over the video. It can automatically detect the spoken language, translate captions into 30 supported languages, and present them in the format that works best for you. WHY INSTALL IT? Many online videos have missing, inaccurate, or unavailable subtitles. Even when captions are provided, they may not be available in your preferred language. This extension helps you: • Follow videos spoken in another language • Add live captions when useful subtitles are unavailable • Compare original speech with a translation • Understand tutorials, lectures, interviews, and long-form videos • Support language learning with synchronized bilingual subtitles KEY FEATURES • Real-time captions synchronized with video playback • Translation across 30 supported languages • Automatic source-language detection • Original, bilingual, and translation-only display modes • Single-line subtitles designed to remain readable while watching • Per-website controls • Compatibility check before subtitle processing begins • A built-in feedback option for requesting support on additional websites YOU STAY IN CONTROL The extension is off by default. It does not inspect videos or collect video audio until you explicitly enable it for the current website. When you select “Enable and check,” the extension first checks whether the active video uses a compatible media format. Audio is not uploaded during this compatibility check. If the video is supported, the extension can begin generating subtitles while the video plays. You can disable the extension separately for each website at any time. HOW TO USE 1. Open a video on a website. 2. Click the extension icon. 3. Select “Enable and check.” 4. Choose the spoken language or use automatic detection. 5. Select the language you want to read. 6. Choose Original, Bilingual, or Translation mode. 7. Play the video and follow the synchronized subtitles. PRIVACY When live subtitles are enabled, the audio required for caption generation and the resulting caption text are sent securely to the subtitle service and its configured AI processing provider. The extension does not sell personal data or use captured audio, captions, or browsing information for advertising. See our privacy policy for full details: https://chatrouters.com/privacy CURRENT LIMITATIONS Compatibility depends on how each website delivers its video and audio. Some videos may not be supported. The current version does not support: • DRM-protected or members-only media • Live streams • Short-form video modes such as Shorts • MPEG-TS streams • Sequence-mode media buffers • Multiplexed fMP4 streams If a website or video is not currently compatible, you can send feedback through the extension to request future support. Live Subtitles & Video Translator is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the websites on which it may be used.
