As you read technical articles, documentation, tutorials, and interview-preparation resources on sites you choose, the extension helps you retain the technologies, tools, and skills behind that learning. Many professionals spend substantial time learning, but that effort is often not recorded or connected to their job search. Ambitology Learning Companion helps make your learning visible and actionable. It summarizes relevant technical keywords, lets you keep selected skills as structured learning notes, and helps you build an up-to-date picture of your current technical growth. How it works On approved technical websites, Ambitology Learning Companion identifies technical keywords related to the page, such as programming languages, frameworks, cloud services, databases, AI and machine-learning concepts, developer tools, infrastructure platforms, and system-design topics. Keyword extraction is performed locally in Chrome using Chrome’s built-in on-device AI model, Gemini Nano, when available. During normal reading, article content stays on your device. Keywords progress through simple learning states: • Exploring: technologies detected on a technical page you opened. • Learning: technologies supported by your active engagement with related technical content. • Interview Ready: skills you have chosen to add to your Ambitology knowledge base. You can also add, edit, remove, or select technical keywords yourself. Only when you explicitly select a skill and click “Acquire the Skills” is that selected skill synced to your Ambitology account and added to your Future Skill Graph. On Ambitology.com, your selected and current skills can support personalized job matching, career planning, and role-ready resume creation. Ambitology helps you connect recent learning with the skills employers value, without letting your study effort disappear into an untracked browsing history. Privacy and control Ambitology Learning Companion is designed to work only on technical websites you approve. It does not monitor every site you visit, collect your general browsing history, read passwords or form entries, or send full article text to Ambitology. During normal reading, page content, page addresses, keyword lists, and learning signals remain on your device. The extension sends data to Ambitology only after you choose skills and confirm “Acquire the Skills.” The synced data may include the selected skill, its category, and user-approved learning summaries such as article count, approved-site count, focused learning time, and related source URLs. Ambitology does not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or transfer it for unrelated purposes. Permissions • Storage: saves your local keyword list, preferences, approved sources, and pending syncs. • Identity: lets you optionally sign in or create an Ambitology account to save selected skills. • Scripting and optional site access: analyze only technical sources that you choose to enable. • Alarms: supports local maintenance and retrying a user-approved skill sync when a network connection is temporarily unavailable.
