SafaView – AI Halal Content Filter for Safer Browsing

Description

AI-powered media filtering that analyzes images and automatically blocks or allows content based on customizable safety rules. SafaView is an intelligent browser extension that automatically analyzes and filters images as you browse the web. Powered by a lightweight AI model that runs directly on your computer, SafaView helps you avoid unwanted or sensitive content without compromising your privacy. Unlike cloud-based content filters that send your browsing data to external servers, SafaView processes everything locally. Your images, browsing history, and personal information never leave your device. How It Works SafaView uses a MobileNetV2 neural network optimized for browser-based inference. When you visit a webpage, the extension: 1. Detects all images on the page 2. Analyzes each image using AI running in your browser (WebGL-accelerated) 3. Blocks images that exceed your NSFW threshold or fall below your Safe threshold 4. Labels blocked images with confidence scores so you know why they were filtered Key Features Dual Threshold System Fine-tune filtering with two independent sliders: - NSFW Threshold: Block images at or above this NSFW confidence level - Safe Threshold: Block images below this Safe confidence level (catches ambiguous or low-quality images) Two Filter Strategies Choose how filtering behaves: - Scan then Block: Show a loading state while scanning, then block or reveal - Block then Scan: Immediately block all images, then reveal safe ones after scanning URL Rules (Whitelist / Blacklist) Control filtering on a per-site basis: - Whitelist: Filter is active (AI scans images normally) - Blacklist: Bypass filter entirely (no scanning, no overlays, images load normally) Per-Tab Pause Temporarily disable filtering on specific tabs without affecting your global settings. Confidence Display See the AI's confidence scores for both NSFW and Safe classifications on every blocked image. Visual Overlays Blocked images are covered with a clean overlay showing: - Filter status (Analyzing / Content Filtered) - Dual-class confidence badge (NSFW XX% | Safe XX%) - Show Content button to reveal individual images Privacy and Data Your privacy is the foundation of SafaView. - 100% Local Processing: The AI model runs entirely on your computer using your browser's WebGL capabilities. No image data is ever sent to any server. - No Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit any information about your browsing activity, the images you view, or how you use the extension. - No Tracking: No analytics, no cookies, no fingerprinting, no phone-home requests. - No History: Your browsing history, search queries, and personal information remain completely private. - No External Dependencies: The model is bundled with the extension. No internet connection is required for filtering to work. Model Accuracy SafaView's AI model is designed for speed and efficiency, enabling real-time filtering on a wide range of hardware. Because the model runs locally (not on powerful cloud servers), it balances speed with accuracy: - Lightweight: The quantized model is approximately 3-4 MB, ensuring fast loading and minimal memory usage - Fast Inference: Images are typically analyzed in under one second - Transparent Results: Each prediction shows confidence scores so you can judge reliability - Adjustable Sensitivity: Lower the NSFW threshold to catch more content (may increase false positives) or raise it to reduce interruptions (may miss some content) - Continuous Improvement: The model is trained on diverse datasets and improves with each version Use Cases - Families: Create a safer browsing environment for children by filtering potentially sensitive content - Work and Education: Maintain focus in professional or educational settings by reducing distractions - Personal Preferences: Customize your browsing experience to align with your comfort level - Public Spaces: Use SafaView when browsing in public or shared spaces for added peace of mind - Content Moderation: Quickly identify and review image content without manual inspection How to Use 1. Install SafaView from the Chrome Web Store 2. Accept the terms of service (one-time setup) 3. The extension activates automatically: The AI model loads in the background 4. Visit any webpage: Images are scanned and filtered in real-time 5. Click the SafaView icon in your toolbar to: - View filter statistics (images detected, filtered, and passed) - Adjust NSFW and Safe thresholds - Switch between Scan then Block / Block then Scan strategies - Add sites to your whitelist or blacklist - Pause filtering on the current tab 6. Click Show Content on any blocked image to reveal it Threshold Configuration Guide Recommended starting settings: - NSFW Threshold: 60% - Safe Threshold: 50% - Strategy: Scan then Block Adjust gradually based on your experience. Lower NSFW threshold = more aggressive filtering (more false positives). Higher NSFW threshold = less filtering (may miss content). System Requirements - Google Chrome version 88 or later - Minimum 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended) - WebGL-compatible graphics card (integrated graphics work, dedicated GPU provides faster inference) - No internet connection required for filtering (model runs locally) FAQ Q: Does SafaView send my images to any server? A: No. The AI model runs entirely on your computer. No data ever leaves your device. Q: Will SafaView work on all websites? A: SafaView works on most websites. Some sites with complex image loading or cross-origin restrictions may have limited functionality. Q: Does SafaView collect my browsing history? A: No. We do not collect, store, or transmit any browsing history, personal information, or usage data. Q: Can I use SafaView without an internet connection? A: Yes. The AI model is bundled with the extension. Filtering works offline once the extension is installed and loaded. Q: How accurate is the AI model? A: The model achieves approximately 97-98% accuracy on validation data. Because it runs locally, it balances speed and efficiency. You can adjust the thresholds to match your tolerance for false positives vs. false negatives. Q: Will SafaView slow down my browsing? A: SafaView is optimized for performance. Images are analyzed in parallel with a concurrency limit to avoid overwhelming your system. The model is lightweight (3-4 MB) and uses WebGL acceleration when available. Q: How do I update the extension? A: SafaView updates automatically through the Chrome Web Store. Check the About tab in the extension popup for the current version. Permissions Explained - storage: Used solely to save your settings (thresholds, whitelist/blacklist, pause state) locally on your device. No data is synced or transmitted. - activeTab: Allows the extension to access the current tab's content to detect and filter images. - offscreen: Used to run the TensorFlow.js model in a dedicated background document for stable, persistent inference. - Host permissions (http://*/*, https://*/*): Required to scan images on all websites. This is essential for the extension's core functionality. Legal By using SafaView, you agree to our Privacy Policy at https://outgrave.com/privacy.
