Strips AI overviews and clutter in search results across major search engines with an ON/OFF toggle. HumanSearch: AI Overview & Clutter Blocker for Search Engines Take back control of your search experience. HumanSearch is a lightweight, 100% free, privacy-first browser extension that allows you to opt out of major AI Overviews, Gemini summaries, and unwanted search engine clutter across all major search engines automatically. Restore standard, classic web search results with a single click and get back to real sources created by real humans. Why Use HumanSearch? Search engines have changed rapidly, placing automated summaries and algorithmic noise above authentic web content. HumanSearch automatically configures your search queries to bypass AI-generated blocks, delivering traditional, chronological web links directly from original authors and publishers. 1. Reclaim Accurate, In-Depth Information AI-generated summaries often deliver superficial overviews that lack critical nuance, depth, and context. Worse, AI models are prone to "hallucinations"—generating confident misinformation, omitting key details, or merging contradictory facts. By skipping automated summaries, HumanSearch encourages users to explore primary sources, evaluate diverse perspectives, and find verified answers instead of relying on synthesized hot takes. 2. Support Content Creators & The Open Web The web relies on an ecosystem of independent writers, journalists, researchers, and domain experts. AI Overviews scrape content from original creators to answer user queries directly on the search page—frequently without fair compensation, attribution, or referral traffic to the source material. When users don't click through to original creators, digital publishing suffers. By turning off AI overviews, you actively support content creators and web publishers by driving traffic back to the individuals who researched and wrote the original content. 3. Faster, Uncluttered Search Engine Results AI summaries take time to render and clog up valuable screen real estate, forcing you to scroll past blocks of text to find actual web links. HumanSearch streamlines your browsing experience by stripping away modern search page bloat, giving you faster page load times and direct access to primary web sources. Key Features Universal Multi-Engine Support: Works seamlessly across Google Search, DuckDuckGo, Brave Search, Bing, and Yahoo Search. Instant ON/OFF Toggle: Easily toggle the extension on or off directly from your browser toolbar whenever you want to compare or restore original layouts. Persistent Settings: Remembers your preference across browser sessions and computer restarts—set it once and enjoy distraction-free searching. Bi-Directional Clean Up: Dynamically applies native search flags (such as Google’s official Web Mode) when turned ON, and automatically cleans parameters when turned OFF to restore original layouts without broken URLs. Privacy-First Design: Operates entirely locally inside your browser. No user tracking, no analytics, no external servers, and zero data collection. Supported Search Engines & Native Parameters HumanSearch uses targeted, engine-native URL handling rather than aggressive page scripting: Google Search: Activates official Web Search mode (udm=14) to eliminate AI Overviews, sponsored product carousels, and rich modules. DuckDuckGo: Disables DuckAssist and automated inline summaries (k1=-1). Brave Search: Bypasses Brave AI Summarizer widgets (ai_chat=0). Bing & Yahoo: Suppresses automated query summaries using engine-supported search syntax. How It Works Install the extension in your preferred browser. Search the web normally from your address bar or search engine homepage. HumanSearch works in the background to serve direct, classic search results. Click the extension icon in your toolbar at any time to turn "No AI Mode" ON or OFF with a single click. Frequently Asked Questions Does HumanSearch store or transmit my search data? No. HumanSearch processes URLs strictly inside your local browser instance. It does not send your queries, browsing history, or personal data to external servers. Why does my search page layout change when turned on? When activated on Google, HumanSearch uses Google’s native udm=14 parameter. This displays Google's official "Web" mode layout—focusing purely on traditional blue links and text snippets while hiding AI boxes, shopping cards, and sponsored blocks. Will this slow down my browsing? No. In fact, skipping the resource-intensive rendering of AI summaries often leads to faster overall search page load times. Stop Scrolling Through AI Bloat.
