Format and lint JavaScript, Python, and HubL without leaving the editor you are already working in. No copy-paste. Format and lint your source code directly inside your current editor window, completely eliminating the need to copy and paste back and forth through external tools. WHERE IT WORKS codefmt functions seamlessly within web-based code editors found on automation services featuring custom code steps. This includes JavaScript and Python environments across Zapier, n8n, Pipedream, Make, and HubSpot Data Hub custom code actions, alongside HubL templates within the HubSpot Design Manager. Self-hosted n8n instances are also fully supported: simply input your server URL in the extension popup and grant permission for that specific origin when prompted by your browser. On any other webpage, the extension remains completely dormant. HOW IT WORKS 1. Navigate to a code editor on any compatible platform. 2. Initiate formatting using any of these three methods: - Select the codefmt icon located in your browser toolbar, then click "format code" - Open the context menu via right-click and pick "Format with codefmt" or "Fix with codefmt (format + safe fixes)" - Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+F while your cursor is active inside the editor 3. Your code updates directly in place, accompanied by an immediate display of any lint warnings or errors. Notifications injected into the editor display the top three issues complete with line numbers, rule names, and descriptions—hover over the notice to keep it visible, or dismiss it via click or the Esc key. Alternatively, triggering the format action from the extension popup presents the complete list of findings directly beneath the button. Manage configurations on the web and apply them directly inside the extension, with settings organized individually per domain. - Offers both light and dark display modes, matching your operating system preferences by default - Displays a "fmt" indicator badge on the toolbar icon to signify when the extension is active on your current page PRIVACY AND DATA HANDLING - Operates without user accounts, cookies, tracking mechanisms, or telemetry data collection - Saves your custom preferences strictly within local browser storage - Activating a format sends the active editor contents securely via HTTPS to codefmt.dev/api/format for in-memory processing before returning the finalized text.
