Ondrift Privacy Policy Last updated: August 11, 2026 Ondrift is a Chrome extension designed to help users improve prompts before sending them to supported AI assistant services. 1. Information Ondrift Handles Ondrift may handle the following information: - Prompt text that the user is actively editing when the user explicitly selects “Rewrite & score” - The user's Gemini API key - Extension settings - Optional local prompt history - Local rewrite statistics, such as rewrite counts and whether rewritten prompts were applied Ondrift does not operate an intermediary backend server for storing prompts or AI responses. 2. How Information Is Used Prompt text is accessed only when the user explicitly requests a rewrite. When a rewrite is requested, the prompt is sent directly from the extension to Google's Gemini API over HTTPS using the user's own Gemini API key. The Gemini API response is used to generate a rewritten prompt, score, and explanation for the user. The Gemini API key is used only to authenticate requests to the Google Gemini API. Extension settings, optional prompt history, and rewrite statistics are stored locally in the user's Chrome profile and are used only to provide Ondrift's functionality. 3. Information Sharing Ondrift does not sell user data. When the user explicitly requests a rewrite, the prompt text is transmitted to Google's Gemini API because this transmission is necessary to provide Ondrift's prompt rewriting and scoring functionality. Data transmitted to Google is subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy policies. Ondrift does not transfer user data to advertising networks, data brokers, or other third parties for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes. 4. AI Response Content Ondrift does not collect or store the content of responses generated by ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Perplexity. Ondrift operates only on the prompt text that the user explicitly asks Ondrift to rewrite. 5. Local Storage Ondrift uses Chrome's local storage functionality to store extension settings, the user's Gemini API key, optional prompt history, and local usage statistics. Optional prompt history can be reviewed and deleted by the user from the extension. 6. Browsing Activity Ondrift operates only on supported AI assistant websites where its user-facing functionality is provided. Ondrift does not collect browsing history for advertising, behavioral profiling, cross-site tracking, or unrelated analytics. 7. Advertising and Sale of Data Ondrift does not display advertising. Ondrift does not sell user data. Ondrift does not use user data for personalized advertising, retargeting, creditworthiness, lending decisions, or other unrelated purposes. 8. Security Data transmitted to the Google Gemini API is sent over HTTPS. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their Gemini API key. 9. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Compliance Ondrift's use and transfer of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information handled by Ondrift is used only to provide or improve Ondrift's disclosed single purpose of helping users rewrite and evaluate AI prompts. 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy This Privacy Policy may be updated if Ondrift's functionality or data practices change. Any material changes to data practices will be reflected in this policy and, where required, disclosed to users. 11.
