You are responsible for OpenAI API usage costs — the extension itself is free, but each summarization sends comment text to OpenAI's API (api.openai.com) using your key. 1. Install Comment Summarizer. 2. On first install, the Options page opens automatically — paste your OpenAI API Key (get one here). 3.Navigate to a post on X, Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn. 4.Click the extension icon to open the Side Panel, then click Summarize Comments. Supported Platforms •X (Twitter): Posts with visible replies •Instagram: Posts with comments •Facebook: Page and profile posts with comments (group posts may work but are not guaranteed — Facebook's DOM varies) •LinkedIn: Posts with comments How It Works •Comment text is read only when you click Summarize Comments — never in the background. •Extracted comments are sent directly from your browser to OpenAI for analysis. No data passes through developer servers. •Your API key and settings are stored locally on your device only.
