Five tools in one extension: full-page capture, visual page history, field highlights, tab lists and focus timing. Five separate tools in one Chrome extension. You switch on the ones you want, and the rest are not there at all. CaptureTools holds Sealshot (capture an entire scrollable page as one image), Backtrack (a private, local, picture-based history of pages you choose to record), Lantern (highlight the fields you care about on a site so they are still highlighted next visit), Tab Ledger (copy your open tabs as text, Markdown, CSV or your own template) and Focus Ledger (focus and break intervals with a permanent local record). The toolbar button opens a launcher; you can point it straight at one tool instead. A tool that is switched off is closer to uninstalled than to hidden. Its content scripts are unregistered, so it has nothing running on any page you visit — no listener, no injected code, no global. Its context-menu entries are removed and its keyboard shortcuts do nothing. The permissions it needed are handed back to Chrome. That separation is enforced structurally, not promised. Each tool's storage keys are rewritten through a prefix bound to that tool by an adapter it cannot bypass; its database is namespaced the same way; and every message carries the name of the tool it belongs to and is delivered only there. Two of these tools stored a setting under the bare name "settings" as standalone extensions — in one package that would have been a collision, and here it cannot be one. **What each tool does** - Capture an entire scrollable page in one click, with sticky headers placed once instead of repeated, and a page too tall for the canvas scaled to fit and said so rather than silently cropped. - Record a visual history of sites you choose, captioned by each page's own heading and searchable across every site you recorded, with passwords, payment fields, sign-on pages and identity numbers skipped. - Highlight a word, a sentence or a whole field on a site you use often — a field highlight follows its label, so it survives the value changing. - Copy your open tabs as a plain list, Markdown links, CSV, HTML anchors, Jira markup or a template you write, grouped by tab group, and paste a list of links back to reopen them. - Run focus and break intervals with the minutes left on the toolbar badge, a chime generated on your device, and a local record of every interval you finish. - Seven themes — Match my system, Light, Dark, Purple, Butter Yellow, Blue and Red — applied to every surface at once, including windows already open. - A searchable in-extension help centre with a section for each tool, covering what it does, how to use it, and the questions people actually ask. **Privacy** CaptureTools makes no network requests. There is no account, no sign-in, no telemetry, no analytics and no remote code; the three typefaces ship inside the package rather than being fetched from a font service. Everything each tool records stays in your browser profile on your machine. Your preferences sync through your own Chrome profile if you have extension sync on; screenshots and highlights are deliberately excluded from that. **The permissions, in plain words** - Storage and unlimited storage — saves each tool's settings and data on your own disk, under a per-tool prefix. - Alarms — wakes a running timer and the history retention sweep after Chrome has shut the extension down. - Right-click menu — adds the single CaptureTools submenu, rebuilt from whichever tools are on. - Scripting and active tab — runs a tool in the tab you invoked it on, at the moment you invoke it. - Side panel — opens the page-history panel beside the page instead of in a popup that closes when you click. - Offscreen document — gives the extension a canvas to stitch a capture on and a way to play a timer sound. - Idle — lets the timer pause when you step away, if you ask it to. - Your open tabs, tab groups, notifications, and access to sites — optional. Each is requested when you switch on the tool that needs it and returned when you switch that tool off. **Support and what changed** Questions, problems and feature requests: dhseadev@gmail.com. Full documentation, including the privacy policy, is at https://dhseadev.online/projects/capturetools/ 0.2.2 — first packaged release of the suite. The five tools were previously five separate extensions; existing data from any of them is migrated on first enable, and the originals are left untouched.
