Sentence Explorer is an AI English grammar analyzer and learning assistant for students, readers, and anyone who wants to understand how real English sentences work. Highlight an English sentence or short passage on a webpage—or type and paste text into the quick-analysis widget—and get a structured learning report without leaving the page. Instead of showing only a translation, Sentence Explorer helps you see the logic behind the sentence: its core structure, clauses, modifiers, phrases, grammar, and useful vocabulary. WHAT YOU CAN LEARN • A clear translation or paraphrase in your preferred explanation language • The core sentence, sentence type, and grammar pattern • Clause relationships, subjects, predicates, objects, and complements • Phrase-by-phrase explanations and contextual meanings • Key grammar points with practical examples • Useful vocabulary with IPA, pronunciation hints, usage notes, and memory tips • Sentence difficulty, reading strategies, and key takeaways • English pronunciation using an available browser voice ANALYZE ENGLISH IN THREE WAYS • Select text and click the floating analysis button • Use the right-click context menu • Open the movable page-side widget and type or paste English directly The quick-analysis widget can be dragged vertically, hidden temporarily, disabled on individual websites, or turned off globally from Settings. SAVE WHAT YOU LEARN Every successful analysis is added to your local history automatically. You can favorite important explanations, reopen complete reports, select multiple records, delete individual items, or clear history and favorites separately. Clearing history does not remove your favorites. History and favorites are stored locally in the browser. The current version does not require an account or upload your learning records to a Sentence Explorer cloud service. USE YOUR OWN AI PROVIDER Sentence Explorer uses the API key, Base URL, and model you configure. It supports: • OpenAI Responses API • OpenAI Chat Completions API • Compatible third-party endpoints that follow one of these protocols • Structured JSON output when supported by the provider You remain in control of the provider and model. Provider usage fees, limits, availability, and data handling are determined by the service you choose. Sentence Explorer is an independent extension and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI or other API providers. MULTILINGUAL INTERFACE AND EXPLANATIONS Choose the interface language and AI explanation language independently. Supported languages include: • English • Simplified Chinese • Traditional Chinese • Japanese • Korean • French • Spanish • German • Brazilian Portuguese For example, you can keep the interface in English while receiving grammar and vocabulary explanations in Japanese, French, Korean, or another supported language. PRIVACY AND USER CONTROL • Only English text you explicitly select, type, or paste is submitted for analysis • The submitted text is sent directly to the AI provider you configured • Your API key and settings are stored in the extension's local browser storage • Learning history and favorites are stored locally in the browser • Sentence Explorer does not send cookies, browsing history, or complete webpage contents for analysis • You can clear your local AI configuration, history, favorites, and website widget preferences at any time Please review the privacy policy and your chosen AI provider's data policy before submitting sensitive or confidential text. Favorite useful reports or revisit them from your local history. WHO IS IT FOR? Sentence Explorer is designed for ESL and EFL learners, international students, professionals reading English content, exam learners, teachers, and curious readers who want more context than a basic translator or dictionary provides. PAGE COMPATIBILITY The extension works on regular HTTP and HTTPS webpages. Chrome internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, some built-in PDF viewers, and other browser-protected pages do not allow extension content scripts, so in-page tools are unavailable there. AI-generated explanations are learning aids and may contain mistakes. Verify important language, academic, legal, medical, or professional information with authoritative references.
