Colors Datadog log table text by content — identical values always get the same color, so repeated IDs and patterns stand out. Rainbow Dog colors the text in Datadog's Logs table based on each cell's content. The color is derived from a hash of the cell's full text, so identical values — trace IDs, transaction IDs, hosts, services, versions — always appear in the same color, in every row, session and query. Repeated values and patterns become visible at a glance instead of requiring you to read and compare strings. Features: • Deterministic colors: the same text always gets the same color. • Built for Datadog's virtualized table: live tail, scrolling, filtering and column resizing are recolored immediately. • Colors are derived from the full cell value even when a column is truncated, so a value keeps its color at any column width. • Detects light and dark themes automatically and constrains colors for readability on each. • Lightweight: a new log row is processed in a fraction of a millisecond, and only Logs pages are touched. Privacy: • No permissions, no network requests, no analytics. Cell text is read locally to compute a color and never leaves your browser.
