Auto-clears search suggestions from Chrome's address bar (omnibox) while keeping your ordinary browsing history intact. Omnibox / Address Bar Suggestions Cleaner keeps Chrome's omnibox — also called the address bar or search bar — free of old search-term suggestions, without deleting your ordinary browsing history. When you search from Chrome's address bar / omnibox, those search terms can later reappear as clock-icon autocomplete suggestions every time you click or type in the omnibox. This extension automatically clears that local search history, or instantly from the toolbar popup. What it does: - Clears address bar / omnibox search suggestions automatically. - Clears existing search suggestions when installed. - Can clear once when Chrome starts. - Keeps search suggestions tidy on the interval you choose. - Lets you clear search suggestions instantly from the toolbar popup. - Preserves ordinary browsing history. - Runs locally in Chrome. - Does not collect, transmit, sell, or share data. - Does not request website access. - Does not touch cookies, login sessions, passwords, bookmarks, cache, or open tabs. Works with local search history entries from supported search engines. Important limits: - Chrome can still show suggestions from bookmarks, open tabs, trending searches, your default search engine, or your signed-in Google account activity (Web & App Activity / Chrome Sync). Those come from Google's servers, not local history, so no extension can remove them — turn them off in your Google account or Chrome sync settings. - This extension clears local search suggestions from supported search engines only.
