Improve performance in long ChatGPT conversations by optimizing off-screen messages. Conversation Optimizer for ChatGPT (CGO) is a Chrome extension focused on exporting, preserving, and revisiting long conversations from ChatGPT Web. ChatGPT Web now loads large conversation histories page by page. CGO works with this format by gradually collecting older messages while the browser is idle and retrieving any remaining history when an export starts. The collected message count is displayed while additional conversation data is being loaded. For conversations using the current paginated format, CGO leaves ChatGPT’s rendered messages untouched and focuses on creating useful local exports. Features: * Lightweight conversation viewer for fast local browsing * Standalone HTML download with optional embedded images * ZIP export with downloadable images and attachments where available * Background collection of paginated conversation history * Automatic completion of missing history when exporting * Export-time conversation loading progress * Conversation navigator for quickly moving between user messages * Copy individual messages as Markdown * Copy, collapse, and expand code blocks * Display thoughts, generated images, and attachments when available * Direct link from exported views back to the original ChatGPT conversation CGO was originally created to reduce browser load in very large conversations. Because ChatGPT Web now manages long histories through pagination, that earlier DOM optimization is retained only as compatibility support for legacy response formats. The extension runs locally in your browser, uses your active ChatGPT Web session, and does not require an OpenAI developer API key or a separate CGO account. Export results depend on the data and files available from ChatGPT Web. Some images or attachments may not be recoverable because of expired links, access restrictions, unsupported formats, or ChatGPT-side issues.
