Flags rental listings in Catalonia that omit the disclosures Decree-Law 1/2025 requires. Runs entirely in your browser. Since 30 January 2025, a rental advertisement for a home in one of Catalonia's stressed residential market areas must state three things: the rent under the last contract of the past five years, whether the landlord is a large holder, and the reference price index value for the home. Most listings state none of them. Rent Cap Check reads the listing you are looking at and tells you, in the corner of the page, which of the three are missing — and drafts the complaint text if you decide to report it. It also flags two common ways around the cap: - a home advertised as a seasonal let, which escapes the rent cap illegitimately - an agency or contract fee charged to you rather than to the landlord Fees explicitly stated as payable by the landlord are not flagged. WHERE IT APPLIES These duties exist only in Catalonia's 271 declared stressed residential market areas. The extension reads the municipality from the page: inside a declared area it gives a full verdict, on a listing outside Catalonia it says the rules do not apply and makes no accusation, and where it cannot read the location it says so and links the official map viewer. It also shows € per m² where the ad states a price and a floor area — an indicator only. It does not compute your legal cap, which depends on the reference index and the flat's rental history. Works on idealista.com, fotocasa.es, habitaclia.com and pisos.com. PRIVACY The extension makes no network requests. There is no server, no account, no analytics. The listing text is matched against a fixed list of wording patterns inside your browser and is never uploaded. The only thing stored is the most recent verdict, kept locally so the toolbar popup can show it. LIMITS It reads what the advertisement says; it cannot verify that a stated figure is true.
