Description
Connect Chrome to Cana Desktop so your agent can inspect, test, and operate authorized web pages. Cana Companion connects explicitly authorised Chrome tabs to Cana Desktop. After you pair the extension with Cana Desktop, you can: - Let the Cana browser tools open, inspect, and interact with web pages in managed tabs. - Keep working in another tab while Cana operates a managed background tab. - Run the same browser MCP element extraction, map, click, fill, select, scroll, wait, evaluate, screenshot, style, and layout-audit tools used by Cana Preview. - Open multiple managed tabs and choose the active Cana target without changing Chrome's visible tab. Managed tabs are kept together in one "Cana" tab group per window. - Chat with the bound Cana agent from the Chrome side panel and watch its progress stream live. - Approve or deny the agent's tool requests from the side panel when Cana Desktop is in ask mode — the same card Cana Desktop shows, answered from either side. - Stop an in-flight browser command and interrupt the active Cana agent turn. - Send messages and file attachments (paste or Attach) to the bound Cana chat. - Capture HTTP request results and WebSocket frames for managed tabs. The extension does not provide a standalone AI service. Cana Desktop must be installed and running on the same computer. Pairing is local, starts only when you click Pair in the extension popup, and requires explicit approval in Cana Desktop; after that the extension proves its credential to the desktop on every connection and never transmits it. Existing tabs are not accessible until you click Use this tab with Cana; that grant covers the tab until you release or close it, including pages it navigates to. Agent-created tabs are managed automatically. The extension does not send browsing data to a separate extension service.
