Self-hosted browser recorder for creating editable guides and videos. InfoSteed Recorder captures a browser walkthrough and sends it to your selected self-hosted InfoSteed server, where it becomes an editable step-by-step guide, a video, or both. A compatible InfoSteed server and user account are required. This extension is the recording companion for InfoSteed and does not provide a hosted service by itself. Features: • Record an editable screenshot-based guide • Record tab video with optional tab audio and microphone narration • Include an optional webcam overlay • Create synchronized guide steps and video chapters from one walkthrough • Pause, resume, and recover interrupted recordings • Follow user-approved child tabs during a workflow • Send recordings only to the InfoSteed server selected by the user • Use English, German, French, or Irish Privacy: Recording begins only after an explicit user action. Depending on the selected recording options, the extension may send sanitized URLs, page titles, interaction metadata, screenshots, tab video, tab audio, microphone audio, and webcam video to the selected self-hosted server. Sensitive form values such as passwords, authentication tokens, payment-card fields, API keys, private keys, cookies, hidden fields, and browser-storage values are excluded from action capture. URL credentials, query strings, and fragments are removed before URLs are stored. InfoSteed does not enable telemetry by default. Data is sent only to the server selected and approved by the user. Server administrators control storage, retention, optional transcription, and any configured AI or speech providers. Users should review captured screenshots and video before publishing or sharing them. InfoSteed is open-source software licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0.
