Connect to WebSocket servers and inspect messages in a focused side panel. WebSocket Viewer is a focused Chrome side-panel inspector for developers, testers, and API engineers. View the current page's WebSocket traffic without leaving the tab, or open a standalone connection to a server you choose. FEATURES • Automatically detects WebSockets created by the current page. • Shows connection lifecycle events and incoming/outgoing messages. • Sends text, formatted JSON, Hex, and Base64 payloads. • Opens standalone WebSocket connections when the page has none. • Saves reusable local connection profiles with optional subprotocols. • Supports application-level heartbeat and automatic reconnection. • Searches and filters a bounded session log. • Exports redacted connection profiles and JSONL logs. • Supports English and Chinese, plus light and dark themes. PRIVACY BY DESIGN WebSocket Viewer has no analytics, advertising, developer-operated backend, or remote code. Profiles and preferences stay in Chrome's local extension storage. Session logs are cleared when Chrome restarts or the extension reloads. WebSocket payloads travel only through the current page's connection or to a server explicitly selected by the user. After installing or updating the extension, reload any page that was already open so the observer can be installed at page startup. Chrome-internal pages do not allow content-script injection, so those pages use manual connection mode.
