Float YouTube in a small always-on-top window — with comments, up next, captions and live chat as tabs inside it. Chrome's built-in picture-in-picture shows the video and nothing else. This gives you the video plus the parts of the page you actually wanted like comments, next videos you can watch. Don't want to press a shortcut every time? The floating player can appear on its own when you leave the tab while a video is playing. ■ Inside the window, as tabs · Comments — keeps loading as you scroll; click a timestamp to jump there · Up next — pick from suggestions or the playlist without closing the window · Captions — scroll the full transcript, click a line to jump, current line highlighted · Live chat — follow the chat of a live stream from the small window · Ad status — see how long the ad runs and press YouTube's own skip button from here · Anything else — pin any part of the page into the window yourself Drag the divider to resize the video against the panel. Which blocks appear is remembered per site, set from the "Setup" menu inside the window. ■ Good to know · Automatic switching only works while an audible video is playing. That is a Chrome restriction; it will not trigger while muted. If it does not appear the first few times, use "Open site settings" in the popup and allow Automatic picture-in-picture. · DRM services such as Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video are not supported. The browser does not allow their video to move into a custom window. · Ads are not blocked or skipped automatically. The Skip button YouTube already shows is mirrored into the window, and pressing it clicks the original. · Chrome 116 or newer. ■ Other sites Built for YouTube. That said, if you press "use on this site" in the popup, playback controls and element pinning work on other sites with video too. Only YouTube access is requested at install time; any other site is requested one at a time, by you. If there is a site you want this on, tell us in a review or by email.
